I heard Pierre LeBrun saying exactly that in an interview the other day. - Marwood
Why? Doesn't make any sense. Why would a team worry more about the playoffs this year as opposed to last year? Teams on the bubble should be selling assets to protect against Vegas

The coast. Here in central BC, it's been one blue bird day after another. Not a cloud anywhere... 4 or 5 days straight. The coast sucked all the precipitation outta here
What do people think the return for Hansen would be? A 2nd? I was thinking the penguins might be a good fit as they seem to have room to retain him for the expansion draft and you would think they would love the cap hit for a guy who can play on any line in any situation.

Hansen should be a first or two seconds or a second and a prospect

Could see him being a nice fit for Carolina as they push to get in. They have a ton of cap.space, lots of good young defense in the league & a pretty nice crop of prospects, as well as a.couple extra picks. This will be a good team in another year or 2.
I would take a Jake Bean or a 2nd & 3rd
I think this Injury riddled season may have lowered his value a bit ...maybe if he goes on a tear when he is back it might help bring it up - Redmile247
If a team was just offering a second round pick for Hansen then I would trade one of Sven or Granlund for a second and Keep Hansen.
They are both similar type players and unlike most here I am not all that impressed with either. I think they need to be upgraded in the next four years.

The thing is sven or granlund could become better players ...Hansen is what he is now ...but I can see a scenario where all 3 are shopped and whoever gets the best return is traded

I think Sven is decent but I would probably trade him and hope that the second round pick that I got for him would be a upgrade. Then I would trade Hansen next year for anoher second .

Not the Canucks. Most teams, in general, who are well placed in the playoff race and then the vast majority that are still bubble teams. The entire Eastern Conference is, theorically, in the race at this point.
If we were to trade Hansen, we will lose our only forward that hits and is willing to fight, at least until DD returns next season.
He is probably a more.valuable player to us than what other teams view him as. - Reubenkincade
More valuable in what way? We are for all intents and purposes one of the worst teams in this league, and will be for several more years. Cut dead weight and stockpile talented unproven youth and draft picks...and build a new team that can hit , fight, compete, and reinvigorate this beleaguered fan base

At this current time is the dead weight not Burrows Sedins Eriksson Edler .Until they are gone a little excess baggage like Hansen doesn't matter.
