At this current time is the dead weight not Burrows Sedins Eriksson Edler .Until they are gone a little excess baggage like Hansen doesn't matter. - VANTEL
Yep...I'm with you, a large guthook is what needs to happen. Bottom of the league is still bottom of the league. With or without our mentors.skid them all and let's let the youth develop its own way of doing things. It's not like we can drop lower |

Hansen competes every night. He is a player that has proven to be able to play on any line.
I am fine if we trade him, this team is in desperate times, which calls for desperate measures.
I just think he is more valuable to keep around than our transitional players Baertschi & Granlund. Trade all of them for all I care.this team is not very good.

Edit: I still want.to see the team play hard. |

Definitely the players we need to build around, but I am not going to get hysterical if we only make a.trade or 2. This team will get to where we all want it to be, it just requires patience & some fantasy trade talk to help alleviate the pain. |

That's more or less how I see it. The players the coach puts out on the ice the most are the " top line".
That said Horvat's line for the most part has been the only thing keeping some hope alive and he is 3rd most used so I understand the debate. - belcherbd
so our top line is megna skille and chapoo? No please no |

it might be payback for NHL rigging the lottery for the leafs last time... they said the Nux were one number off, but i think they switched the balls on us... - kaptaan
but mathews or laine would have been riding the bench here or in ahl as willie wouldnt play them. Instead we'd get the amazing chapoo and megna the legend |

Thanks Carol,
No harm in trying Granlund on the Sedin's wing but I don't expect it to be the catalyst of a big run.
Good to see WD is trying something new I guess, I still find it interesting have averse he is to trying to get some chemistry going between Horvat and Eriksson.
I know Bo isn't ready for 1st line duties and that it makes a huge difference having guys like Sutter and Henrik around to ease him into the league but I think it is absolutely ridiculous that WD would put put Burrows and Megna on the top PP unit in a tight game before moving Horvat up.
Sorry Makita...... PS mom, is worried about your anger issues. She thinks you need to move back to the westcoast - belcherbd
Don't be sorry bro, I believe that at the beginning of the year I stated that "in my opinion" this team lacks talent. The pompom girls continued with the wild card anything can happen, what will JB do to help with the playoff push yada yada. I get like dbot at times, I just want to take up the other side after reading some of the drivel.
Well look here, the talent laden team is pretty much where I thought they be...
And if you ever dragged your donkey ass out of the Jingle Pot Pub or Millers Pub and came to the family dinners once and a while you'd know that I'm out of Ottawa starting tomorrow... |

Stecher is smart and crafty. If he had a person to feed that could finish or a player with enough balls to go play in front of the net he would be much more effective. |

Stecher has shown that he is untouchable for now. He has played well for the most part. |

Good rant the other day!!!
Keep at it, the cry-baby emo's need some perspective. Anyone thinking that Claude Julien will getting anything more from this sad-sack and talent-less bunch knows sweet Richard about hockey. |

Hansen should be a first or two seconds or a second and a prospect - VANTEL
Good call👍
A late 1st from a contender or any PO aspiration team sounds high but if we look at who that pick would be its not likely a game changer. 2-3yrs to develop & no guarantees he would be better than Hansen for what he brings to the table. Sure he is older but has a very friendly contract. I'd be more inclined to want a 2nd & good prospect or even a top prospect eg Juulsen. 2-2nds if JB wants more picks or chips to deal & the Habs have 5-2nds. |

Could see him being a nice fit for Carolina as they push to get in. They have a ton of cap.space, lots of good young defense in the league & a pretty nice crop of prospects, as well as a.couple extra picks. This will be a good team in another year or 2.
I would take a Jake Bean or a 2nd & 3rd - Reubenkincade
Thats another good idea👍 |

If a team was just offering a second round pick for Hansen then I would trade one of Sven or Granlund for a second and Keep Hansen.
They are both similar type players and unlike most here I am not all that impressed with either. I think they need to be upgraded in the next four years. - VANTEL
Why trade a developed player who prolly is better than any 2nd pick would project as?

He is a guy who would play more when your trailing in the 3rd and less if your tied or winning ...he is young enough that he could develop more but he has to get much bigger if he wants to stop getting pushed around in his own end
I think Huttons upside is more than stecher |

I don't see stecher as a cornerstone piece but more as a guy holding onto a spot until your other D prospects develop |

He is destined to be a PP QB at best & not play as much in the last minutes in a game when ahead.
Shutdown D he is not but good for pairing with one thru out the game.
If he can develop & hold his own more defensively that could change but at his size thats not likely. |

The guy can't defend. Stecher has better numbers against quality forwards, Hutton hasn't earned anything outside of bottom pair. Good bottom pair guy, but still. |
