If we are in the playoffs and can flip him for a younger D, then I'd much rather have the depth on D going into the playoffs. Remember when we had Rory Fitzpatrick that one year? Yeah, no thanks to that again. - BeadyEyedDouche
are you saying that if the sabres are in the playoffs next year, you flip kane for a younger defenseman? |

Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News believes the Bills have enough cap space to take on Tony Romo's salary.
That's only if the Bills part with Tyrod Taylor, which would free up $13 million in cap room and cover most of Romo's $14 million salary if the Bills acquired him via trade. Buffalo could have some appeal to Romo with a strong offensive line, elite running game, and legit No. 1 receiver in Sammy Watkins. With that said, the Bills are still an extreme long shot to land Romo.

Draft a QB let Romo play good with me

I see what you did there...
I would if we were about start a rebuild...or about to lose him for nothing..or were tight against the cap. See what im getting at? |

those wingers, as well as the ufa's on the right side are truly uninspiring - Michael Pachla
Only way I'd trade Kane is if I was getting a defenseman like Martinez, Muzzin, Brodin, etc. back.
This team is thin at both LW and D, but I'd rather solidify my D. |

Or any defenseman. Throw in a pick if it lands you a Fowler-type.
Yeah. I would.

The Sabres are 24th in goals per game, Brian Gionta is our leader in 5 on 5 pts; you are measuring 6 games as the whole picture of the Sabres offense? WTH? That's a funky way of doing stats and making your argument. - GilPerreault11
I went back & did the exact math
With Eichel back, we are at 2.85 goals per game
That puts us 10th in the league
Those are not alternative facts

is a top 10 QB when healthy I wouldn't call him horrible
But you are correct if we don't fix the o line for him he wouldn't last two games |

To be fair,
The decision to bring in Romo has not been made yet
Also...
it's not like we can trade for Cam Newton
Whoever our QB is next year,
It will be less than ideal |

I'm just saying I don't think a team would get rid of a player that's important for the playoff run
I agree with the defensive part but you would just give up Picks and Prospects for that defenseman |

If I'm going into the playoffs and another team is willing to trade me a solid D-man, I'm driving Kane to the airport.
And I like Kane. But again, I don't care if a team has never done it, if there's the opportunity, I take it.

Murray is in a very difficult position regarding Kane. On one hand hes been playing just like you would want him to, speed physicality and goals hes been great. On the other hand his style of play lends itself to injuries, and the off ice stuff will always be a factor.
It looks like to me, TM is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. If he trades Kane, doesn't get a premier dman and kane continues his scoring ways looks real bad, given what was given up to get him. If he resigns Kane and he has another bar fight or w/e or his production goes down Murray looks bad. Of course, the dollars and term are also an issue, don't see Kane taking a short deal or a "discount" for us (don't think he would get 7mill but some team will give him a 6x36 contract), and I want no part of that. - Sabres1523
The off ice stuff will NEVER be a factor unless it happens again.
