, I'm not upset at you sharing the info...I'm not sold on Button being much of an expert regardless.
- belcherbd

In buttons defense, every "draft expert" had Virtanen in the top 10 while Button had him at 43....maybe he is a genius

Yeah Tanev might be a bad comparison for PIMs, but I just cant see him being too much higher than 30. He isnt overly aggressive, Chara in his prime actively tried to intimidate guys, I just cant see Tryamkin be like that. Not for a few seasons anyway. I do agree that he is scared of penalizing the team, but I think that has more to do with his style and hurting the team than being benched

The bold is kinda my point though is that if he manhandles someone, it would be an accident. Like tossing Jenner in the fashion he did, stood his ground and pushed but really didnt try to send him flying. Nor does he keep coming after guys, even in scrums he's always the peacemaker

- WhiteLie

Was he the peace maker yesterday when he started feeding Gagne uppercuts? I think he is a lot more violent and temperamental than you are giving him credit for.

Dear god, the last thing this fan base needs is to be doing is hyping up our prospects excessively.

I hope Boeser becomes a super star but expect something more along the lines of a JVR, which is still a very useful player.

- belcherbd

As a prospect he is as high end as they get. Key word is prospect.

I saw him in the scrum doing this, then going to pull the Hartnell off Sbisa:

I did miss these though, mustve turned away

I just notice when he takes penalties they are mostly accidents, not from too much aggression. And the look on his face just seems really innoncent like a kid that feels bad about getting penalties. Big friendly giant, not an angry one

- WhiteLie

He may have no choice but to become more aggressive over time as guys like Jenner try to use him to make their mark. As he gets more experienced and comfortable in the league, he's also likely to lose patience faster when guys take liberties on teammates or start scrums in front of his net.

I see the NHL neutralizing any aggressive tendencies he may develop by giving him BS suspensions for any marginal infraction. Just like they did with Edler when he hit Hertl and Smith.
- YeOldTimer

Or jake on polak, since that I have seen at least 6 worse than that and not even a hearing, that's got to affect a young player like jake, jakes scratching his head in disbelief on the latest one on sven I bet.

ya I dont know either. I do know he held him at arms length which meant the guy couldnt even reach him then started smashing with the other hand. Awesome advantage.

boy last night he threw jenner like he was a child ...sent a strong message for sure

- SMBDragon

Jenner didn't seem to get the message. He acted like a punk the whole game. Just stayed away from Tryamkin.

Those were some fairly tame body blows on Gagne. They should have Gino Odjick stop by the office to review some of his old tapes and discuss how and when to 'lose it'.

I look at Buttons the same way as McGuire . The guy is paid by a Vancouver radio station to talk about Canucks and every time he does he gives us a verbal BJ

Jake will be fine, hes gone through a lot for a young guy the last year from the eastern media dumping on another canuck to a bogus suspension aimed at him because the nhl doesn't want him destroying careers with shoulder checks, not to mention local media putting all kinds of pressure on him because hes local. He will get through this just needs to mature he has a lot of skill.

I think he will be fine as well....but that suspension wasn't bogus, unfortunately the league doesn't continue to suspend acts like that consistently.

Button has a hard on for everything Calgary. He's been promoting Shink since day one.

Yep, although I think Vantel's explanation is pretty accurate as well.

At this stage I just hope one of our prospects is better than Chaput and Magma

Yes it was bogus, shoulder to shoulder and he let up, polak faked it. It was a tad late but we see that every game.

By the Canucks team or the team1040?

He is a TSN employee so I don't doubt that they are encouraged to hype up the Canadian market prospects.
