According to the Buffalo News, the idea of starting Cardale Jones at quarterback is "appealing" to GM Doug Whaley.
The fourth-round pick out of Ohio State attempted just 11 passes as a rookie in 2016. He's a major project but with Buffalo on the fence about keeping Tyrod Taylor, Jones is an alternative the Bills will have to consider. Taking a quarterback 10th overall would probably be a reach for Buffalo while the free agent market figures to be just as sparse. In the end, the Bills may decide that keeping Taylor is their best option.

Whaley should have been canned. The only move that makes sense (unless you see a franchise qb at 10) is to tank for one next year. Whaley has doubled down on a number of moves to get us a 7-9 team. Somebody has to make that decision, and i dont trust a gm that should be on the hotseat to do it. Sign glennon or some lesser qb to get us to 4-12. Im sure jones and/or glennon could provide us with some pretty terrible games. There is no record worse than 7-9. Let the browns pay tyrod.

Whaley will be canned after this year.
They are doing exactly what the Sabres did outside of saying the word "suffering". They will fire Whaley after this next abysmal year, and hopefully draft a franchise QB

Romo is easily the best QB we could reasonably get...
but I have zero faith that he can stay healthy
But if the thought process is...
make a run at the playoffs
Or
Romo gets hurt, we go with Cardale & "tank"
Then I could actually get on board with that - jdfitz77
I think romo and cutler would both retire if they got traded here. If you found yourself at 37, having a respectable career mostly in the rearview, and sleeping on a mattress stuffed with hundred dollar bills, and traded here, what would compel you to stay? We are an irrelevant franchise, with a new head coach and an offensive line that doesnt pass block, in a division with the patriots.

Still wanting to play
Guys go to unfavorable situations all the time so they can play
What about the Bears is better than the Bills?
Just the city
As far as the team goes,
Bills have a way better shot at the playoffs
