I wanted to fire him 8 games into the year. It wasn't even because his poor results. His coaching style isn't up to date with the current NHL or play to our strengths

I believe the "Players" with ROR's tacit approval decided they had to play to their strengths because the system was drastically hindering their development and in the long run the financial and professional careers.

For half the year the team did what was told of them,
in return, strong efforts where not rewarded, constant line juggling, worst PK in history,

Disco will not be here after the year, I just think Pegs wanted to let him play out the season, not it seems, Dan has no leverage, he's coaching to win games, while the players are playing to their strength and new speed game emerging around the league.
Dan is showing an obvious lack of adaptability within season alterations. He even had a week to develop an Uptemp strategy.

At the end of the day, I've always stated that I feel its in the team's best interest that our young Speed/Talented Core plays this new Uptempo style, if they do, we will lose games we could have won, but to bolster our pt total at this pt at the expense of development is short sighted at best

To sum up this game, our best player was a recent Rochester callup, and 2nd place wasn't close. No offense to Rodriguez, but if he's your best player, you aren't winning.

I think lehner was taking a shot at eichel. He played like a 5 year old tonight. Trying to stick handle thru three guys in his own end. Out of position twice and just lack of hustle by him

Eichel was sloppy but saying he played like he was drunk is a stupid analogy. Your also conveniently ignoring he had, by my count, 7 primary passes setting up teammates for grade A scoring opportunities. This is more than last night, his linemates just scored last night. Game would have been different if Kane, Reinhart, McCabe or Okposo would have scored on one of those setups. Jack is 20, is frustrated and is trying to do too much. To say he isn't trying is blatantly wrong.

While all this is true the real problem is the blue line. It was some point during the late second or third that Brayton Wilson pointed out that No Sabre defencemen had registered a shot. Not only are they not scoring they aren't a threat or a factor. Injuries obviously play into that, but even when healthy they aren't effective. Top line forwards being asked for everything.

I understand disco Dan's part of the problem but if you give these players that kind of power what's going to happen next time we have a different coach things are going to get tough and they're going to pout and ignore until they get a new coach

Ouch, could be. But again, might be short sighted on Lehner's part. The D has suffered constant injuries and lineup changes. On top of not being great on paper to begin with. The top forwards are being asked to do too much.
