The problem is we don't have the pieces to overpay unless we trade Sam Reinhart but people would flip - GERBE!!!75PTS
Seems to have the same impact towards the teams play as trading Kane. |

A player like Kane is easy to replace a center is not just saying
That's why I don't understand why people are so up in arms about trading a winger
every other team does it and there fine |

It will work itself out like honestly can you name me a team that lost a star Winger and that is struggling?
Columbus Blue Jackets are struggling moved Jeff Carter ,jakub voracek?
Philadelphia Flyers moved jvr
Anaheim Ducks -Bobby Ryan
Hawks- Brandon Saad
The list goes on the thing you can't replace is a center those are hard to find |

So your solution to moving Kane and replacing him is, It will work itself out.
Oh brother.
Edit it took Columbus several years to replace Voracek. he was traded in 2011.
JVR traded in 2012. Philly has been up and down since. |

I think it's way important right now to get the defenseman for him no let's sign him to a ridiculous contract where we pay him 7 million a year when you have other pieces to sign
With no blue line |

Thats great, I agree we need blueline help. You said you could easily replace Evander Kane. Im still waiting for who replaces him. |

Without Kane this team is in the dark ages. Who's are we going to lean on? Moulson?
I said something about Moulson at the start of the season. Moulson will never get hurt. He'll never put himself in a position where he could be hurt. Sure he produced when Eichel was out, but once he stopped getting gifted top line and PP1 minutes he went back into coast mode. |

We will find someone cheaper in free agency or maybe Justin Bailey will take that spot
you really want to sign him for that much money that's the point of all this everyone wants to keep him but do they not understand we have to sign him and jack , Sam
Then the blue line
The free agent pool in 2018 is very nice I see lots of players testing free agency |

Nobody is saying they need to resign him right now, they're just saying that trading him right now would create a pretty large hole.
To be quite honest though, I'm amused that this is even a discussion since most around here were ready to run him out of town at the beginning of the year. |

I would say gaping.
I have always said, Kane needs to produce on the ice to prove his worth.
I am still concerned about him and his off ice stuff. He gave every fan, no reason to think otherwise.
If he scores 25-30 I am fine with him on this team.
In terms of UFA, your best option is 30 YO TJ Oshie who gets 5+MM a year in FA. |

Only problem I have if we wait longer after "summer" what happens if we're in the playoffs next year there's certainly not going to trade him at the deadline and then we lose him for nothing |

I don't disagree with any of this. I'm hoping that the events of this summer were the last of the off ice stuff. I'm not entirely convinced, since in order for the charges to get dropped he needed to keep his nose clean for 6 months. He still has a bit of time on that, so I wouldn't expect to hear of anything until at least May (since the news broke about the dismissal at the end of October). |

Sometimes, that's what happens. Plenty of teams end up losing good players for nothing at some point. It's part of the game. |
