I went down there and they found it. But what if those shot attempts came from non high scoring area? Pretty much what a defensemen is supposed to do?

I don't think this at all though. I think there are a ton of things that can't be easily seen on MSG, that stats can help clear up.

Like challenging zone entries, or passes that end up leading to offense.

Garbage in, Garbage out. There are too many variables to come up with an accurate evaluation of an individual's performance. Especially with four of the variables being other players on the ice.

I just must have somehow overlooked it. But I could've swore the water was supposed to be included.

What if Risto, not pressuring the forward entering the zone, allowed an easy zone entry, which allowed some opposition zone time, which led to 3 shot attempts?

What if that routinely happened, which is why almost everyone on the team, has more shot attempts against WITH Risto on the ice.

You are a massive contradiction everyday. The other day you said how a Dman plays offense usurped how he played in his own end. Why are you now so concerned with how Risto plays in his own end, you claim offensive D leads to stronger D. Now your arguments sound like mine, ya now, the whole player I guess that only matters for D we haven't traded for yet.

Even if that shot against has ZERO to do with whether or not Risto had done his job or not on the play

Using those stats is "generalizing"

I'm looking specifically at how each players actions affect what leads to that shot
It's not always the fault of everyone on the ice

Risto's play is not a problem with the Sabres, it's Risto's playing 30 minutes a night because there isn't another pair on the team that can play more than 15-18 minutes a night that is part of the problem.

There is a need for another top pairing D and a need for Guhle to be here.

This, even though I'd like an upgrade with one of Falk or Fedun but it's not a priority, only if one of our past draft picks/prospects like Nelson is better for the 6th or 7th D.

Analytics fit when it is convenient, don't fit when it's not. No, not top 15 player in league but not 3rd line player either.

One thing I will say though is if Gorges is still on our roster come the start of next year, we aren't serious about winning.
