I don't think this is true. The bottom 8 teams are inherently rebuilding, do they want a 30 something forward? To give up prospects or picks? No. - neem55
Really? How many 30 something has bins did the maple Laffs pick up and sign to one year deals? Then flog them off at the deadline for pics. Summertime comes rinse an repeat , fill out the roster then move for pics. Last two years they did that hard. |

Hey if you wanna believe he's turned everything around and is a good soldier and teammate then good for you. He has a very well documented history of being everything else but that, and I've heard no one involved with the team come out and say dam rights he's changed his ways and is a fantastic team mate. Funny thing about nhl dressing rooms is they never hang each other's dirty laundry out to the public until it's gotten to a critical mass point. What is coming out from the sabres players now is there are some major issues in the room ( largely undefined at this stage other then identifying certain unnamed players are not following the coaches gameplan) . So yes there is no way to prove you're theory...and no way to prove mine until critical mass and it all blows up...players start naming names. The eye test to me...looks an awful light the Winnipeg situation all over again. My opinion of course - Bullfrog77
Doesn't look like Winnipeg situation has changed with or without Kane.
Thats a team going nowhere fast with deeper issues post Kane era. |

Which is why it's time to move on.
I don't want a repeat of Burrows (underpaid for years, performed well, cashed in and becomes a bit of an anchor), i'd like to sell after getting good value and allow him to cash in elsewhere, while playing the new ?underpaid guys like Sven and Granny. - dbot
That would be the smart move especially in light of Vegas expansion.
Would miss Hanson. He's a great player and character leader. Part of transition of team that these things are necessary. Remember Bieksa |

Doesn't sound like Hansen is too interested in waiving as per Jason Brough - VANTEL
He has to provide a 8 team list if requested. Refusing to do this under his M-NTC would void it, and then he could be moved to 29 teams.

Exactly. I don't get Mauryballstien's point on this or why he thinks the contract is a problem too. |

Im on board with keeping Hansen and trading one of granlund or sven. I just dont want to loose any of them for nothing. I would expose sutter as his contract sucks and LV more than likely wouldnt take him anyway.. Something to keep in mind with Hansen is what does he want on a 3 year deal after his current contract is up? If he wants a massive raise it might be best to move on. Same ggoes for gudbranson. - mauryballstein
JB can't expose those two guys actually. NTC and NMC. Both players turn to modified NTC's later... but after the Expansion rip off... and still wouldn't matter. |

Yeah...but Hansen is a very useful player with a great cap hit. Even if he gives the list as the bottom 8 teams in the league...all of those teams likely would have interest in him. Use up next year's contract and either resign or trade him. - Bullfrog77
I coiuld we why 8 teams had no interest to trade for Vrbata last season. I can't come up with 8 who wouldn't want Hansen. Can you? |

I think every team in the league would like Hansen at his cap hit. He's 30 not 36...still got a couple years of his prime left |

They are a joke. They thought they were past the hump on their re-build when they beat the Canucks in the playoffs. Then they realized that the Canucks beat themselves and the hump is not even in sight still. I bet they could use all those -goals for- they gave us over the last year.

Who has the NMC you are referring to there? Sutter and Hansen can be exposed for Vegas. As far as I know it's Sedins and LE for two seasons on NMC that have to be protected. |

If Sutter is exposed on waivers he'd be taken by any team. If Vegas had a free shot they wouldn't hesitate. Have no idea why you think his contract is an issue.
JB knows Guddy wants raise and traded for him. It might be more palatable because of performance in injury season. Hansen has been underpaid. His next contract will be substantial based on prime years. - Nuck4U
what the hell are you talking about? who said anything about waivers? I clearly said I would prefer to expose sutter over hansen, sven or granlund if we werent going to trade them. My point was that trading hansen would be good if he wants a massive pay increase. Same goes for gudbrnason if the 6 mill per season rumors are true.

You can expose them because they have a no trade. Im pretty sure its only the NMC that cant be exposed, sedins, erikson |

Guess you are caught up thinking there is drama when Vantel and Nighthawk questioned your logic.
To clarify for you on your questioning. Waivers was brought up as an example that any team would want to take Sutter for free let alone Vegas. That was in answer to your statement in bold above that Vegas wouldn't want him anyway.
By the way if you traded Sven or Granlund instead of Hansen or any of three you wouldn't need to expose Sutter to Vegas as the 7 forward slot would be there for him. If you don't like the contract whatever. It wouldn't deter Vegas or or anyone else was the other point.

I thought they sent him down cause we were over when they activated Hutton. Does this mean Sven is going on LTIR? His prognosis on concussion is that bad? Bo we know knee bruise may keep him out tomorrow. Sutter we don't know about his hand.
Either way adding these injuries makes it a wall now, before their break, on grabbing points. JB should be looking at moving as many vets for picks as possible now. |
