The goaltending was god awful in the playoffs and somehow made it out of the first round and pushed the Blues to 7 games.

Had the goaltending held up they would have been in the Cup Finals IMO

Dallas gives up the 3rd most scoring chances per 60 of any NHL team. We give up the 24th most.

It's coaching. Lindy's system doesn't bode well for goalies. Ours does

It drives me crazy the hate for lehner. "He stinks, he only has the 7th best save percentage in the league."

What do people expect from him? Now I read we have slightly better goaltending than the stars. I mean seriously, JESUS CHRIST!!!

Wouldn't this stat kind of show our D isn't really that bad? Besides bad goaltending, I would say the stars have one of, if not the worse defensive groups in the league.

A little better goaltending than the stars? I believe they have the worst save percentage in the league, while we have one of the best.....

I think it's the fact that we have to play it safe with our current D men, we have no puck movers outside of Risto, and they barely take any chances.

This is why I thought Miller was always better than his numbers showed. Lindy's style gives up a ton of 3 on 2's/ 2 on 1's.

In Lindy's last year here, we were top 10 in chances given up.

Spot on, I would hate to see Lindy coach this team and leave the goalies out to dry like he is know for doing...that is Lehner's weakness as we have seen in the shootouts.
On the flip side though, he does have a decent O structure that features D support on rushes...coming in on multiple levels, so we would likely be scoring more frequently.

What I hate about Bylsma's teams is they don't transition well.

We don't force odd man rushes unless it's a bonehead turnover by the other team

Minnesota gives up the least amount of scoring chances per 60 (5 on 5) and presto, their goalie is having a Vezina season

I'm thinking this will be a low scoring affair. Tight defensively.

They fired a guy that has been getting fired every year for the last 3 years. Not exactly a shock move. He couldn't get them over the top with the best goalie since the best goalie(Hasek) and some prime talent up front and on defense. Not even remotely the same situation as the Sabres.

I can't remember the last time a coach was fired mid-season & was coaching somewhere else in the same season
It's probably happened...
but this had to be one of the very few times

The only way he was gonna coach again this season was in the perfect situation for him... which was obviously Montreal
I think we'll find out that Montreal has had their eye on him for a while now,
Just waiting for him & Boston to break up
And this is a great way for Julien to stick it to Boston

Let's see what Roslovic & Lemieux end up being...

Gionta & others have come out recently to say that it's how the players execute & that the differences between each coaches systems are pretty minimal
