Is Lehner a #1 goalie? If yes, what do we re-sign him at?

I say "yes" to the 1st question and a bridge contract @ $3.25 million/year for 2 years each.

He looks good lately and he's showing he can stay healthy but I'm with Pach we have a lot of time before we need to make any commitments that way.

If willing to go 6 years could probably stay under $20. The attraction is in the term.

I think the tatoo is that same gargoyle thing from his mask.

(Couldn't answer the question last night as I was temporarily deplorable.)

as of right now, i'd bet that they could go with less money for a shorter term--3 yr./$10-12m

he's making $2.25 now

that's what I think he gets

not what I would pay

I am a firm believer Murray will lock him up long term, overpay on potential to justify the first rd pick

his recent determination to play hard ball with contracts like risto gives me hope. Lehner doesnt really have leverage here.

Tom Brady, the good looking 6'4 white male, who's also a gazillionaire, who skipped out on a WH visit with Obama, thinks his black teammates need to put "politics aside"
and visit the White House.

Not sure it's possible to dislike the Patriots more.

I thought Murray overpaid in a trade for him

that's all the leverage he needs

there is no way he signs for a 20 percent bump in pay

Why dislike the whole team for the actions or statements of one goodlooking 6.'4 while male gazillionaire?

It was a lot, but to play the other side.. was the only nhl level goalie under 24 and was within the division. Seeing martin jones also go for a first made it seem reasonable.

In an odd way i think the argument is less about is lehner worth a first than was there an another older option for less

I think the argument should always be, you can find good goaltending in a lot of places from a lot of goalies, and the system in front of them dictate a lot of the results they get.

buffalo has the 14th-best goals-against average in bylsma's system and have gone from last in the league in goals-for without Eichel to 24th and climbing with Eichel back in the lineup in bylsma's system...

should there be concern with Bylsma's system?

For sure, Looking back at it now. Is there someone else you wish they targeted?
Imo Talbot who's 4 years older went for a 2nd & 3rd and Anderson went for a 1st and 2nd. At the time i thought it was CRAZY over payment but now it honestly seems "kinda" fair

Here's an interesting stat...

Lehner has faced 5 more shots over the course of this year than Bobrovsky has, yet has played in 6 fewer games. (1282-1277) He's also only allowed 1 more goal (97-96). However, he has 15 less wins.

Pretty crazy when you look at it that way.

Would this then mean that since Lehner is putting up good numbers behind a terrible defence, then would that not mean his numbers would be that much better behind a good defence? Thus coming to the conclusion that Lehner is a bonafide number 1?
