not sure i see it either. My belief they should but ultimately i think kane is here next year. - Sabresfan-365
I knew Bailey was fast but I didn't know he was that fast. There were breakouts where he just exploded out of the zone.
I am liking what I see from him more and more with Oreilly and Okposo
Get his scoring touch going and he can be there long term for all I care
Bailey Oreilly Okposo
Kane Eichel ??
Nylander Reinhart Carrier
Foligno Larsson Gionta
Move Ennis and Girgensons for a 3/4 defensemen
Send Gorges away for a 3rd
Pray Vegas takes Moulson
Sign Shattenkirk
Risto McCabe
Shattenkirk player in Ennis trade
Guhle Bogo
Falk
Off season sign Vrbata to a 1-2 year deal.
Roll 4 lines next year. |

I can easily believe that Pegula wanted kane out after the june fiasco, but i'm pretty sure murray a.) couldn't get much for him over the summer and b.) probably really didn't want to trade him anyway...same with the injury
murray may have gotten lucky with kane finding his hockey self lately...will it be enough to keep Pegula away from the situation?
not sure - Michael Pachla
Thing is, the rumours that came out about the minnesota deal were before the bar incident and apparently fell apart because of that. Implying it was just a hockey/business trade.
Timeline of the rumour makes me curious but otherwise i agree. |

isn't the long change on the 1st and 3rd period for a team on the road?
I always thought that was one of the points of home ice advantage in the playoffs (or anytime,) the home team being closer to their own zone two out of 3 periods. - seedy
Nope. The only time there's a long change is during the 2nd period and it's the same for both teams. The end you defend changes, but the bench doesn't. |

Honest question not a dig at all but which of these do you believe is more likely? Shattenkirk wants to be out east and we could overpay so as a long shot id believe we have " a chance "
There's absolutely no way ennis and girgensons brings back a true 3/4. They tried girgs + for fowler and ducks were having none of that. Given the price for these d-man you're probably looking at the minimum Kane and maybe have to add.
Just my opinion though of course. |

Hopefully they don't trade Kane. True story, he has been the best player in the Jets/Sabre trade. He has also played in more games than Myers since the trade. - Mentalorgasm5

Kane has to keep his nose clean right now too, otherwise those charges don't get dismissed. He needs to be on the right side of the law for 6 months, so he has until the end of April based on the fact that the case was adjourned based on those stipulations at the end of October. |

I think since he completely healed from his broken ribs Kane is playing exactly how Murray envisioned him playing on this team.
there aren't a lot like him when they're at the top of their game.
If they had the exact same point totals, who would you rather have, him or Stafford?

Kane plus for a 3/4 guy?
Come on now. Im thinking an older vet like a Gorges before he got traded here not the one we have now. A guy to stay at home and play a solid defensive game like a Jason Garrison type. Not flashy but not horrible
7 for 7 for Shattenkirk should be in the ball park.

okay I think I just misunderstood where you were going with 3/4 guy, my bad.
Shattenkirk makes sense, but i think its boston and NYR's to lose. |

I should have said a 4/5 guy to hold the spot until Guhle is ready for the 2nd pairing for good
But yes I think Shattenkirk is Boston or New York bound but I just don't see how either team can afford it |

because Stafford had 21 goals last year, but was a minus-23?
or that myers had a stretch-run that rivaled his calder year but has been injury prone ever since? |

Last year- I'd value a top 4 D-man with 9 goals, 27 points, and positive possession numbers over Kane's 35 points playing some of the most minutes of any forward.
This year, it's not close, Kane has been really good.
But to fuel the fire, Joel Armia has 5 points in his last 5 games and has been good since his knee is "fully healed". Unless only Kane gets the injury passes. |

I think as far as NYR goes the assumption is they'll move Nash and dedicate his cap space to Shatenkirk although im not sure what other RFAs they have
Bruins would be trickier. 12+ mil in cap but Pastrnak and Spooner are RFA.

16 goals in 44, might cost a little more but id be all for it. Can they convince him to waive is the bigger question. |

Right now, sure. Last year he wasn't. The year before he wasn't.
In one year from now we conceivably could be without Kane or Bogo (Im praying), and the Jets could have Roslovic, Armia, Lemiuex and Myers (If he's not in Vegas) and whatever asset they get for Stafford at the deadline.
The trade will never be close unless Roslovic is a complete bust

isn't the old adage, "whomever gets the best player, wins the trade?"
btw, kane scored 20 goals in 65 games last season
oh, and btw...kane didn't play for buffalo the year before |

I know he scored 20. So did Drew Stafford. It's not a special achievement. He's been really good this year, so this year, yes he's been the best player |
