Carrier, Fasching are the two guys who stand out most as not being NHL ready.

But I think in the case of Rodriguez and Bailey, there's not much more playing in the AHL can do for them. Larsson shouldn't be here next year, IMO. Time to move on. He's a 10g, 10a 30pt at most player who's slower than slow and has no awareness.

I'd bring back Girgs, though. I still have high hopes for him, I think he can be a great depth player going forward. Foligno, gone.

Next year, Bailey, Rod, Baptiste full-time. Asplund might make the team out of camp and Nylander should be the one developing in the A.

Carrier has such a punchable face. That might be why I don't like him but no thanks on him going forward. Career AHL'er.

- BeadyEyedDouche

I'm with you, Douchey. Like keeping Girgs around, too. If Carrier or Faschibg can stay healthy, who knows? I like to think we will have the roster spots open to have competition amongst the kids, similar to what the Leafs had going into this year.
Molson, Ennis, Grant, D Low and Larsson all gone may be the key to our future.

I am not advocating any younguns getting rushed up if they're not ready like Fitz says, either. If they're ready, let them fly....but watching a young fast team makes my pants feel a little tighter.

Regardless of where they are in the standings in two weeks.....

- trade UFA's Franson and Kulikov. Get whatever you can for them. Whatever we get for them, give to Vegas along with a decent prospect. Then give a list to Vegas and tell them to pick one of - Gorges, Moulson, Ennis or Bogo.
- we need to lose at least one of those big contracts before next fall, ideally two.

Franson/Kuli are replaced by Falk and Fedun. Bring up Nelson as required. Bring Guhle in for his full 9 games - or more if they can without burning a year on his contract

Fix the d-situation this summer.

I stopped at the part where he moved into an apartment in Binghamton and knew immediately what this guy was talking about and why he felt that way.

Binghamton will do that to you.

Having lived just outside of Binghamton my entire life........It really is sad to see the state of that city

This is the kinda story that made me post about how poopty it must be for a guy like Grant to get yanked around the NHL.....we all know its a business..but its real people that we're talking about wheeling and dealing with..and it affects them.

Dude, that's the thing, too. Unless you've seen it you have no idea.

People think Niagara Falls is bad. Go to Binghamton.

I lived there for 3 years and it was agony. It's got a heavy atmosphere that brings out the worst in people and in yourself. There's actually a lot of mental illness there, still, even after the old mental hospital closed.

If you have a weak mind already, it will intensify.

Converging weather systems, massacred Native Americans, IBM, the shoe factories and cigar factories, all gone. But unlike a town like Buffalo, for instance, people's dignity and self-respect went with the industry.

And the sun shines like 15 days out of the year, no joke. That's not good for mental health.

I'm not kidding when I say him being in Binghamton probably both caused the intensity of the condition he had but ultimately saved him by bringing it out in such full-force he couldn't ignore it.

The townies are rotten people. The locals fall victim to it. The students hate it and get treated like poop by both and in turn, treat them both the same way and there's this constant economic and racial tension and LITERALLY a cop cruiser with 2 active officers on EVERY single street corner.

Don't go to Binghamton, people.

I don't agree with you on much.....but outside the "native american massacre"..this is a good summation of Binghamton....the only thing you forgot to mention is how this is now the super-distribution center of drugs for the entirety of upstate NY.....and the cops are not even close to equipped to deal with it

Yeah, unlike the other major sports, no other professional athletes have as grueling of a schedule, as rough of a game and as much relocation because of the NHL/AHL relationship.

And most AHL towns have an AHL team for a reason. Small and economically depressed but enough of a population to support a minor league team.

It's actually a really good thing that a lot of teams are relocating their AHL affiliates closer to their NHL cities. It's a tremendous stress lifted off the player.

There was supposedly a massacre of thousands upon thousands of local Native American tribes when the city started to boon. They say the city is eternally cursed for it. Each person will interpret that different but there's no denying there's something off about that town.

And absolutely, it's the meeting point and distribution center for all the drug trafficking not just in NYS but the region.

And I'll so far as to say the Police know this and play a hand in it directly or by choosing to ignore it.

I got very involved in the town for a while and you hear a lot of poop and meet a lot of people. A lot of ex-cops who told me it's THE most corrupt department in the region and about half of the force is involved in the drug trafficking directly.

There's a lot of money in it at the end of the day and they can't just make money exploiting the students, although that's a huge cash-flow for them now.

3 things drive it's economy. Well, 4.

Drug trafficking

Yet, it still happens just as much relative to the population %

The only work available is retail, service and temp work in the factories that are still there. And the conditions are literal sweat-shop.

Abusive everywhere. And from what others told me, it was no different for the working people no matter the facility or restaurant.

My own experiences can confirm this.

I'll put it this way. Buffalo's working class makes just as much, if not more money, than Binghamton's "middle-class".

Erod is so much more exciting than Grant and I don't think anyone would dispute that. What bothers me is that Bylsma would probably prefer the boring, play it safe approach of Grant over Erod. I will always take mistakes and entertaining over boring and safe. Isn't this supposed to be entertainment? When did we get to the point where doing nothing is preferable to generating excitement in the building? Want the fans to get excited? Play Bailey with Baptiste and ERod. I guarantee fans wouldn't boo at the end of a period of we were losing, because those three guys would actually be giving fans their money's worth. Watching Grant play is demoralizing to the arena. Let the young guys play and watch the building go nuts and the players feed off that

When the big money came into it.

There was no money in the '70s and '80s and it was the best era the NHL has seen. But then the 90's rolled around and guys were starting to make millions of dollars a year. And it was all downhill from there aside from a few years after the '04 lockout.

I think the latter has some influence on the former...

The entire US and Canada is just one big Native massacre. But especially here.

Murray needs to fix Rochesters D, how do they expect prospects to develop with a losing mentality and a crappy defense, I feel bad for Ullmark.
