Maybe not a hot streak. Maybe it's finally coming together. We all knew it would take time . Well some of us thought that way. baby team ... - cabin
They're going to go on another bad spell sooner or later. It doesn't have to do with the makeup of the team. It's just how this league works. Plus, the bye week coming up will most likely stall the momentum. They just need to not hit a losing skid longer than two games and stay within striking distance.
Matthews 56 games 46 points
Laine 53 games 50 points
Hmm, interesting. - Lilroot9
Matthews point total is impressive but laine an incredible sniper. Imagine if we got lottery lucky last year and he was paired with eichel and Reinhardt. Alas.....

I'm not making any declarations either but it seems some media there are free with with accolades at times with the team overall and tough on the individual players. My point is I'm not sure if the Leafs or Sabres are "good" yet. - GilPerreault11

Yeah . mentioned earlier. Hope they come back from the bye with their hockey still going .
not sure why everyone's interested in moving gionta...he's been solid all season and makes his linemates better' - Michael Pachla
The argument is someone would most likely offer a 2nd for him as his playoff experience is invaluable if you want him back for 2018, he'd probably be very interested in resigning

Just pointing out that. But Laine is not expected to be their best player, Matthwws is.

If you're looking to make the playoffs yourselves this year, services rendered might be better value than a 2nd rounder at this point.
That's tough, just stick with the walks, or go to Ellicott Creek park that's 2 minutes away and hang out there for a while, just don't go in the bathrooms after dark. Or do, I'm not judging... - Wetbandit1

Wait...you mean that "not good" teams never have good stretches in an 82 game season? Learn something new everyday, I guess. - buffalofan19
No.
I mean I say some stuff over and over and over again, to the point that those here in the thread might feel like the defeated exhausted woman who replies "It's hump day."
People in Toronto have thought that the Leafs are good and have thought so all year. Just saw a CBC reporter use that word describing them. The Sabres are currently one point behind them and have NEVER been referred to as good by any media outlet or fans and they've had more games lost to injury than most teams. Are Leafs good just like they tanked with dignity? - GilPerreault11
They also don't know how good that kid in Winnipeg is either. The media barely talk about him and it drives me nuts.

Or that maybe average teams do. I'm a pretty big Sabres optimist so not sure what that other post meant by Kaiser but to say that The Leafs and Sabres may not be good yet, but average is just my opinion.
There are great teams, good teams, average teams, bad teams and just God awful teams (what the Sabres were when they tanked).

The Sabres are definitely starting to cross the line from average to good.
Tomorrow is the night to prove the later. No more excuses for this team. They can and should take it to the next level.
Leafs are falling all around
It's time I was on my way
Thanks to you I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay
But now it's time for me to go
The autumn moon lights my way
For now I smell the rain
And with it pain
And it's headed my way
2 more wins. That's all they needed in those games when Kane and Eichel were out. Then we would be talking about if they could catch Montreal.
Beat the Hawks! Make us fans believe in them fully. Make it happen. Don't let those loses to Carolina and Boston haunt us.
Now the blue line needs help for sure, but I am not moving Kane or Reinhart. Sorry just not doing it unless it's for OEL or Burns.
If Kane wants to stay here for sure and can stay out of trouble I have zero problem moving Nylander Girgensons and this years 1st for a defenseman. Especially if Bailey stays and Baptiste builds off of this strong game.
Can you imagine a team of Bailey Baptiste Eichel ROR Okposo Kane in the top 6?? That's sooooo much speed and skill
Then have Reinhart center the 3rd line, and Asplund center the 4th?
Seriously this blue line needs help but I think Murrays vision is starting to show what it can do. - Stripes77
Yeah, im starting to really not wanna move kane. The fact that he has been playing well with eichel is making it even harder to consider (i, like lots of others, thought they both wanted to carry and shoot, and it wasnt a good fit). I guess theres always the question - will uncle terry let murray extend him? Thats gotta matter. If you wanna take reinhart off the table too, we might be getting a d back with some warts. Nylander looked good in the juniors tournament, but is overmatched and immature for the ahl. Girgensons is on a show me deal and is not showing much. Our first is probably around 10th overall- in a weak draft. If you take kane and reinhart off the table we dont have the pieces to go get a top line d.
