Looking at the pending expansion draft, there are a number of dmen that Murray could inquire about leading up to it.
Manson, Jokipakka, Van Riemsdyk, Johns, Petrovic, Forbort, Scandella, Beaulieu, Ellis, Hickey, De Haan, Wikstrand and Sustr could be all possible options. Not to mention teams that up against the cap as well. This summer is the time to go shopping. |

I heard it's kings, wild and ducks where the intense talks are at right now - homiedclown
that whole deal looked as if it was centered around reuniting domi, skunk and duclair, which really doesn't work for me...
kane-eichel-skunk or that line...you be the judge |

Reading down the conversation, he suggests Chychrun would be the defenseman, which makes no sense to me. If they really wanted him, they could have taken him over Nylander in the draft. - buffalofan19

Hockey hockey hockey blah blah blah ... I just wanna say that this is probably the mildest winter up here in Buffalo in my 51 years on this planet. This Friday, it's supposed to be 58 degrees. 58 degrees ! In February ! In Buffalo ! I can still see my grass, as I have been able to most of this month. Check out this month : http://www.accuweather.co...7/february-weather/344586
OK, back to hockey talk ...
Go Sabres - kritter65
Same going on in ST. Louis. I've been here 16 years and February is always cold. It's been in the 60's and 70's most of it and the 10 day forecast is the same.
It's enjoyable but it can't be good. |

I agree. No reason to give up assets right now to sure up the D.
It's definitely possible over the summer to sure it up. |

Or sign him and then trade him. Every other sport does it except the NHL |

I still don't think Kane fetches that great of value in a trade right now anyway. He's been playing well, in fact, you could argue great, but it's still a relatively short time period. I have to think most NHL GM's are still expecting the other shoe to drop. Hopefully, it doesn't, but if I'm a GM of any team not named the Buffalo Sabres, I'm still wary of making a significant investment in him (i.e. assets plus the >$6 million/year contract I would have to give him). |

I'm not buying that rumor at all but I will say this
I would move Kane Nylander and a first for
OEL and Domi.
That's about it
Domi would play in Kane's spot
OEL is a huge upgrade to the blue line.
But no way Arizona is okay with that even though they get one entering his prime power forward in Kane and a hot young winger a prospect and a first |

would you rather have kane and carrier for the next 6 years, or foligno, and ennis
IMO that is how I handle it if kane wants to be here |

exactly...that's why trading him now is kind of silly...if at the end of the season he wants to sign an extension, cool...if not, a lw'er with a year left on his contract and a 25-30 goals season would certainly be enticing to a number of teams |

You can certainly add a peice if the deal is for an impact D man.
As great as he's playing, I think he's the guy who will be the odd man out as far as the wingers, if only because of the contract situation. |

7.5 to O'Reilly
6.0 Okposo
Say, 7.0 to Jack
5.5 to Sam
Not factoring Lehner, Risto at 5.4, that's a lot of money in just the top portion of the roster. If Kane wants 6.0 per, that's close to 40-45 mil in cap for your 5 out of 6 top forwards, 1 D man and a goalie. |
