I post positive poop about the Sabres all the time...unfortunately it's also realistic and not as far along the rebuild as some of you want to believe so you take it as a negative.

It will be a minimum 5 year rebuild from the reinhart draft before your team is secure oh in a playoff spot. When I say that I'm not talking some TO, FLA , Calgary fluke where they make a t once and miss again. I'm talking about at least being a top team in your division. You're about 3 key players away and the only way it will happen is either through free agency or drafting and developing. GMTM doesnt have much left to trade so it's one or the other or both. Get those players and by the time Eichel and Reinhardt are in their primes this team will contend.

I'm with ya. Stay the course does not cut it. I would prefer to roll the dice again and do a partial rebuild. This team does not gel.

I think that's a fairly asinine thing to say. A team that hasn't jelled doesn't make 3rd period comebacks against a Sharks team prior record be damned. And the fact that they've done it a handful of times from 2 goals down with less than 10 minutes left. I do think they have effort issues at times, but I also think that stems from too much thinking and not enough playing. I saw it a lot with Rolston. But when they're skating there's not a team in the league that can keep up. They just need to do that for more than 5 minutes a game. And when they're not on, they can't be as bad as they were yesterday. If fatigue is that big of an issue then you just have to stay home, clog up the middle and collapse on your goalie, not cheat at the blue line waiting for a breakout pass from a guy with two guys hanging on him. And hope to win 2-1. I'm not sure who to blame. The coach for not recognizing his players were gassed and adjusting accordingly, or the players for trying to cheat because they were super tired.

A team that is 3 years out based on the mess they have on the roster won't be trading for 24 year old Dmen when their window isnt there anymore.

And if they target a 20 something year old, it would be after the draft. They aren't moving Duchene or Landy at the trade deadline just to put them into a hole prior to the expansion draft.

I was looking at them on the Capfriendly expansion draft tool. Vegas is going to get an AHLer and that's about it. Maybe a 13th forward.

I didn't realize how bad he's been this year until I looked it up, but then again the whole team outside of like 3 guys has been really bad, so I'm not sure how fair that is because I don't watch them. If I remember correctly he had a solid couple of seasons there didn't he?

And losing Varly won't have too much of an impact since a complete tear down seems imminent and you don't need a goalie that costs that much when you're building.

Grigs is the same, frustrating...does something magical then you get all excited again.
