My wife just said she went to high school with Joel Edmundson of the Blues. A school of 1000 kids at a time and she went to school with 2 nhl players. Other being Ferland. Brandon is a hockey hot bed. - manvanfan
My mothers class mate was Scotty Bowman |

Not aimed at you but that kind of thinking is BS. Leafs have been building for years. same as the Flames Jets and Oilers.
Do you think Mathews Marner and Nylander are the reason they are finding success?
Kadri was drafted back when Hodgson was drafted and is also a huge part of the team same as Gardiner Reilly JVR and Bozo
They have gone through a decade of being on the bottom.
Matt Martin adds more than anyone realizes . They can play a little bigger and braver thanks to him. Getting better goal tending doesn't hurt also. - VANTEL

I like Tippett too but agree we have plenty of RW especially since we our stuck with eriksson for another 5 years
We have plenty of young D that dont really project to be top pairing although they are more tough to predict so unless its Liljegrin id prefer a center or LW but obviously depends whose on the board.
I really like suzuki in the mid 20s if we can land another 1st from Hansen. - mauryballstein
If we could do Tanev for LW Landeskog straight up thats like adding Tkachuk.
20 goals 50 points size & ornery grit.
That gets LW fixed up & we can go BPA for C or D.
Hansen might fetch a late 1st. |

I realize they have been rebuilding for years but they never fully committed to it until the last few years, like how calgary hung on way to long to unload iggy and kipper.
All the top talent on those teams has come from the last few years. I agree with you that Mathews doesnt make the team but when the leafs started adding extra picks and prospects every year has added to their depth.
I agree with what your saying but totally disagree with you at the same time because with out getting those top 3 picks its pretty hard to be successful. |

Other than high draft picks in their roster the farm is weak. |

Id prefer to keep Tanev and deal Edler and Gudbranson myself.
Im pretty sure Montreal would be all over Edler because he has years left on his deal.
Gudbranson wants way to much money and thats why i didnt like the trade. Heard he turned down 5x5 and isnt even worth close to that. |

I think we need to go with BPA....Tippet has more upside than Vilardi |

Toronto and the peg have loads of prospects... Calgary has some nice dmen and goalies coming along but they also have a very young core group which we dont currently have. |

They haven't been rebuilding for years, that's completely untrue! They've been trying to compete for years which stuck them in mediocre land.
When they actually committed to rebuilding is when they started to turn it around. Kids that were picked by previous regimes are helping though, to be fair. |

Id rather Vilardi but if we walk away with tippet its not a big deal just means JV has to play LW.. if he ever makes the team again |

Hard to force Edler into waiving as much as i agree.
I'm not worried that EG will sign for a fair contract.
Therefore i prefer to keep Tanev also but he is most likely easiest to trade.

That's pretty much like saying Jv has more upside then Bo. Players that have a lot more goals then assists is a red flag. |

That's really not important when your lineup is chalked full kids in the 18 to 23 range. |

It is a lot easier to trade a 30 goal Iginla making 7 mil over trading two players making a comined 14.2 mil who score 12 goals each. |

You can't trade the Sedins . You have been telling me this for years. You can't do a tear down until they are gone what is hard to understand about that. |
