I don't remember reading that and don't know what it means? Nucker coming back?
- LeftCoaster

We were going over how far back you have to look to identify the root of these problems. Selling future to challenge for a cup was a big part of it... and now the dept is being paid.

Oh I think it'll come, my female dog is it should've come sooner, but that's water under the bridge and no one like to discuss it anymore....apparently lol.

Although the number of posts would indicate otherwise

- LeftCoaster

Just because they aren't top team in the league doesn't mean they should go on auto tank. Management knows they have holes. JB has gone about filling them as fast as he can. Having to maybe sacrifice something else at the same time.

He ( Phucker) comes across as a spoiled child who didn't get what he wants. I thought you were all pro differing opinions?
- Marwood

I like that he has an opinion, I like that he articulates his thoughts well. I haven't always agreed with him but that doesn't mean I'll sit here and call him names because I don't agree with him.

I only call Vantel names, because we have a long standing relationship, I feel I have a bit of leeway with him. Hopefully.

Lol
Just the other day I was thinking how nice it was not to be inundated with trolls from other teams. Then today happened.

It shouldn't be surprising...we all new the Philly parasite would make an unwanted appearance

I honestly think they have some very good pieces in place .

I am very curious to see when Bo Sven Granlund Boeser Tryamkin Stecher and Hutton all reach 26-29 together.

- VANTEL

I also think there's some good pieces there, it's just that, I'm greedy, I want more damn it!!!

Most teams that are competing for a Cup do the same, they trade picks for depth to get over the hump, LA did it and won two Cups, just so happens it didn't work for Gillis.

His drafting, I will say, really hurt the club....six drafts, not much to show. Horvat & Hutton.

- LeftCoaster

Yeah, that hurts more than the contracts even...

None. He is an entitled "little boy"!
- Marwood

No he is not. Go back and read through this thread. He posts intelligent ideas that some disagree with and articulate why.

Others, come across as babies who stick their fingers in their ears screaming tra la la when someone offers a view that everything isn't so rosy in canuck-land.

Can't wait til the off season when those same people claim the team is ready to contend for the playoffs!

Oh (frank), if we follow the model being pushed by many, well be doing a tear down and re-building through the draft when they get that ripe...

Calling him a "little boy" is condescending and says more about Darius than it does about Nucker.

Those "intelligent ideas" are nothing more then diatribe disguised with stats to prove his "rightness" over how horrible Benning is as a GM. It's not useful for the purposes of discussion because it's his way of using Trump-like alternate facts and blaming fake news for why he ran away from the board because no one would validate him for his ideological and pathological hatred of Benning.

No, everything is not rosy in Canuckland, but neither is it a wasteland like Nucker and a few others would like you to believe. The fact is, if it was that bad, Benning and Linden and WD would have been canned already and the Sedins/Burrows/Edler/Hansen/etc. gone whether we wanted them gone or not one way or another. FA is NOT that patient, so if the team is so bad off as Nucker claims, FA would have cleaned house as he's that kind of person.

Nucker is a troll that thinks he's not a troll, but unlike NuckFU he at least sounds intelligent and can write intelligently. I call him a little boy because he runs away when people don't immediately validate his opinion or disagree with him. I appreciate him because at least he's willing to stick to his guns and try and provide facts to back it up, but like my Sociology professor used to say, 'There's lies, damn lies and statistics'.

"many view this draft as weak class, draft picks aren’t valued as much. Teams that are looking to buy aren’t being aggressive as they have been in the past according Yzerman"

Not good sign. Weak draft and teams aren't being aggressive. Can't fault if JB doesn't do much.

That's the way I am with Nucker in a way... we have a long relationship on here and it only got cheeky since his Sbisa meltdown. I still like him.

As atriculate and well thought out his posts are, most of my time is spent correcting him on the far reaching misquoting and the projecting of opinions I didnt express. So, for that, he gets a lot of frustrating smart ass comments from me meshed into the debate... it's how we roll.

Nuckers problem is that he acts like a child too much. It overshadows whatever thoughtful intelligent comment he might make. The way he ran our hockey pool into the ground last year was as childish as you will ever see an adult (I think he is one) act.

1) your comparison to trump is not apt. nucker uses stats and facts to back up his argument(s). those stats are not made up. you may have a different interpretation/analysis but you can't say that they are "made up." if anything, you come across as trump by claiming that his stats are "fake" or made up;

2) this will be 3 of the last 4 that the team will finish bottom 10. this could be the second year in a row that the team finishes bottom 5. hate to break it to you but the argument that the team is a "wasteland" is easier to make than the other way around. you may disagree with nucker but that doesn't mean his opinion is invalid. it just seems that too many people just don't want to hear it... b/c it hurts too much

3) nucker left b/c you guys pile on him for voicing an alternate opinion. unlike nuckFU (who should be run out), nucker provides cogent analysis that some agree with but many don't. the attacks against him are usually personal with only a couple engaging the actual merits of the argument. nuckFU posts novels that say absolutely nothing. his basic argument is that: benning might do something but he might not. the team is bad but it could get better. basically, taking both sides of the argument to try to paint himself as reasonable. i'll take reasonable opinions backed up by facts/stats (even if i disagree) over someone who garbles english and logic to present 500 words that say nothing.

(i've already got people waiting on me for a meeting so i won't be able to respond... wouldn't want to be labelled a boy who runs away).

It is true that Nucker floods you with moot stats when he runs into a wall in his argument, though... or like last night when he kept posting bullet presentations at me of the same questions rehashed over and over trying to crack the safe. He starts to get frustrated when you stick to your own opinion, so he plies it thicker. I stood my ground. The tactic of throwing down so many layers of split hairs doesn't prove a giant tragedy to me.

Again, you can use any sort of facts/stats to back up your argument, but that doesn't make your argument right. It's easy to think it's a wasteland because you're only looking at the trees, not the forest itself. The fact is that Nucker ideologically and pathologically hates Benning and is a proponent of moneyball moves and advanced stats (which has been shown via Gillis here and beginning in Florida to not work in hockey) and refuses to accept that maybe, just maybe he's not as right as he thinks he is.

I would listen to Nucker more if he didn't have his adamant hatred for Benning, didn't slant everything based upon it and could admit that Benning has made some shrewd moves in peeling Baertschi and Granlund away from Calgary, drafting Tryamkin, Boeser, Gaudette and managing to sign Hutton and Stecher. But he won't, he considers those moves minor or 'damaging to the rebuild'. But yes, I do freely admit that he does have SOME valid points mixed in his diatribes, unlike NuckFU who has issues with novel writing, language and logic.

Yeah, when I wanted back into the pool and there was no room, I understood. He seemed to not want me back when I asked when there actually was room. Considering I dominated the two pools I was in on HB in the previous years, that seemed a bit suspicious.

I know you are going to say you beat me in the pool. I would have had an undefeated season if I could have edited my lines(GTs didn't make their min) when I was in Mexico though...
