Him and Schieffle make a pretty good duo for Jets going forward.
- ClarksonDavid

For sure, damn he's gonna be a great scorer for years to come.

Nah. i'd cut Miller loose myself, give Marky a chance to play some consecutive games.
- dbot

Yup.
We don't really need a good goalie for the next few seasons anyway. Top 5 picks.

My point is you aren't comparing comparable players.
- manvanfan

saying a guy got 13 or 15 more points that got paid 1.5 million more and saying it is worth it is just asinine. Maybe slightly over 1 million. Maybe. Doesn't change that he's a defensive liability when on the ice. guys that score between 10-25 points are not worth that kind of salary.

My dealing gudbranson thing yesterday was so that we arent paying him 2nd pairing money to be a third pairing dman. He really is not that good. Send him to arizona for duclair and a 2nd after the expansion draft.

Makes for an interesting read on your comment.

I hope this works. Can say certainly that Hansen has been underpaid. It's where the league salary is going for these types of players. I'm not saying I don't think Dorsett is worth 2.65 but more like 2-2.25

We have seen the worst of EG, we havnt had a long enough look plus he was playing hurt. An injured wrist is tough to play with believe me.

Nystrom (plays in the AHL 98% match to dorsett is about right!) and Martin are both over paid, everyone else high on your list is much better than Dorsett and gets paid less. Also, very few of them (outside of Nystrom and Martin) have glaringly awful defensive stats. Thanks for the list though, didn't know you could do that on capfriendly.

45-50. yeah, i'd be comfortable rolling the dice with that.
Sign a seasoned vet to back up.

Anyone but Brian Elliot

i'd sign Tomas Griess for 2 years/ 2 m.

edit: i'd also take a run at Patrick Berglund.
28. Big. Swedish. Scored 17g this year so far.

plus it'd annoy VT, so...

Bring in a UFA. Short-term, not too much salary. https://www.capfriendly.c...18/caphit/all/goalies/ufa

Greiss is signed already, idk if any goalie out there fits a 30-35 role.
If Miller is not resigned lump it & play Marky til he drops.

He's very good. Don't think Buffalo would give him up. For my money, let Dorsett go. the guys in the lineup are better than him except for his scrappyness. Sign a scrapper to be the 23rd guy. let him play left-bench like Bisonette.

Yes of course it's something positive. You made a good reference. My thoughts are leading to the way prospects can get chewed up under the weight of expectation.

Example Stecher was seen as a project to develop in AHL. He shows some ability and instantly is loved. His mistakes are written off as growing pains. JV screws up his training for summer. Not first guy was told to beef up and it hurt his game. He's at fault for his personal activity. Though it seems everything gets blown way out of proportion. So he now is a complete wreck, having his game deconstructed, to be built up one aspect at a time. Does that get recognized? Not really. It's all about his stats. He's lableled a bust.

So wonder about guys like BB, OJ and Demko. They won't get to progress like Bo as the team will not be able to shelter them given the holes. It's sink or swim. Leary of the pressure that could turn things on them.

- Nuck4U

Did they really tell JV to go bulk up? I missed that if they did.

He was bulking up in season last year. You see his neck and shoulders getting thick...

ah. my bad.

i was just throwing a name out there from an outdated list of UFA goalies.

i'd be just as comfortable with Neuvirth, or Scott Darling.

You sure spend a lot of time discussing a 4th liner that may never play hockey again

I've been chirping about how bad he is since he signed that poop contract, as you pointed out earlier "every chance I get"

Anyway you can. Maybe give McPhee a bj. leave him on LTIR forever. Trade him to Arizona so they hit the cap floor... I don't much care.
