If Bo and Tryamkin get 7 million as you suggest that would be 10 million remaining. At least 3.5 for Gudbrandson, assuming he doesn't get a raise as you indicate, leaves 6.5 with 6 players to fill in roster. A back up goalie 700k, any RFA signing automatically gets qualified with a raise, so we are left with a million give or take.
Sbisa or Hansen gets claimed but still need to be replaced in the line up. So 1.5, leaving 2 maybe 3 million in cap space. Not a lot of room. You would be hoping for an injury free season. - Reubenkincade
Well at this point it sounds like it will be Miller/Marky again next year so that's a bit more than 700k. |

It should be Markstrom & Bachman next season as the Canucks probably won't be pushing for the Presidents Trophy. |

I was being conservative for manvanfan scenario.
Although it is time to move on from Players of Miller's age once contracts have expired or they are traded/bought out/placed on permanent LTIR, I don't care, this team has been boring to watch for a long time.

Miller to California don't care what team
Burrows to MTL for a 3rd.
Hansen to WPG or PIT for a 2nd
Edler to PHI or CAR for a 2nd
Tanev to whoever for a 1st...or two 2nds.
Time to make this sh*t happen JB! - LordHumungous
Edler and Hansen are worth more than that.
Eller and Shaw got 2 2nds each. Eller doesn't do much of anything.
As much as ppl whine about Edler. Teams would line up for him.
Tanev is loved around the league. Even playing thru injury this year, he'd fetch a 1st and a prospect. atleast. depending on strength of pick or prospect.
a 3rd for Burr take it and run! |

I see T.O. going after Alzner in UFA. Altho they could still use another D like Tanev. I'd prefer to keep him for now.
It always seems to come back to Hutton. Deal would have to be real good tho. Nothing wrong with hoarding Dmen oil the right offer comes around. We go thru so many of them each year anyway (injury). |

Sens owner just told GM to do whatever it takes to make playoffs.
I guess we don't have the only delusional owner in hockey. |

I can see someone paying for Hansen. Burr no. a 3rd would be amazing. But I'm sure Benning would prefer a lesser pick and prospect for Hansen. Wishful thinking, but a 3rd and Sprong would be nice. Ferraro said he would ask for Pouliot and a 1st. That's not like Ray. But you have to think there may be a bit more of a bidding war for Hansen. Especially once Eaves is moved.
At the end of the day I hope to see 2 picks and a prospect. Altho a bag of corn nuts would be more than we got last year.
hmmmmm. Bernier/pick for Miller?
then resign Miller in summer. maybe Burr too. |

I'd rather trade Gudbranson than Hutton. Tree is going to eventually make him obsolete.

We have enough right side Dmen without Gudbranson, and we could get his physicality elsewhere for cheaper. It seems silly to trade a guy a year after acquiring him but based on the fact that we have better, cheaper options to replace him why not?

Pittsburgh lost another defenseman last night, down to 3 regular defenseman. Could be a good fit for Sbisa. |

Like it helped us in the summer? We were counting on it helping us. We fell two spots.
- boonerbuck
Last draft was the first one with the new format, so it didn't work in our favour once, does that mean you just quit the draft? Do you throw one cast with your $1000 dollar setup and say"(frank) it, there's nothing here".
They need at least three solid drafts from a really good positions, last year being one, now they need a couple more. All they need is for it to work one time. You can still pick up great kids in the 2-6 range. |

I think if they dont trust Markstrom/Bachman next season and want Miller or another goalie in the NHL tandem, one of those two will be moved. They would not be very bright to block Demko's developement by making him split time with Bachman another season, plus it would get Garteig in the AHL instead of ECHL |

I wouldn't rule that out. I think Guddy's value to the team is much more than just on ice. Unfortunately don't see JB doing that. Altho, if he asks for too much $$$ he may have too. |

good point. You know they will go after somebody. Plus, Hansen replaces Rust. almost too perfect.
Hope I'm not staring at my radio at 12:01 on TDL day, wondering.... "Did JB really do nothing?" |

As much as we all want Hansen to be moved it's an extreme long shot. He won't make it easy to trade him. He just built a new house and has young children. He doesn't want to leave the country club ever. |
