Last draft was the first one with the new format, so it didn't work in our favour once, does that mean you just quit the draft? Do you throw one cast with your $1000 dollar setup and say"(frank) it, there's nothing here".
They need at least three solid drafts from a really good positions, last year being one, now they need a couple more. All they need is for it to work one time. You can still pick up great kids in the 2-6 range. - LeftCoaster

You are posting like Nucker that's why. Who quits the draft because of the simple fact that you can't count on the lottery?

He has a point. We should forfeit all our picks to Vegas |

In 3rd slot, we had a better chance of moving back than forward. If we remained in our spot, that's not help. If we finished in a lottery slot 3 times, it is very possible not to get any help from the lottery.
Lottery gives you chances with some luck, or a (frank) in the ass with some poop luck. You can't count on it in a short period of time.

I think anytime you put yourself in the three hole you're gonna win no matter what, the worst you can do is 6th and the best you can do is first...that's a win in my books. |

McPhee is a solid GM, he could probably outwit Benning with a Spirograph on why Benning should throw in 2nds and 3rds in a deal - LeftCoaster
Perhaps....but McPhee is a bust |

Although it is time to move on from Players of Miller's age once contracts have expired or they are traded/bought out/placed on permanent LTIR, I don't care, this team has been boring to watch for a long time. - Reubenkincade
Well if you do take a bad contract. Will need a couple low salary to offset. If OJ and boeser make the team. Small salaries. Minus bonuses if they hit any. It's all just IF right now. |

Sure, who doesn't agree with that? Newsflash,,,, The Draft Helps.
Falling from 3rd to 5th or 6th is not getting help from the lottery.

As much as we all want Hansen to be moved it's an extreme long shot. He won't make it easy to trade him. He just built a new house and has young children. He doesn't want to leave the country club ever. - CanuckDon
I don't want to see Hansen move, he is our only forward that provides any grit. Out of necessity because of the" watering down effect"(expansion), we should be moving a forward, whether it be him or Granlund or concussion prone Baertschi it doesn't matter to me.
None of them will be around as top players when we become a legitimate playoff team, so try get what you can for 1 of them in case they are the"chosen one".

I won't be choked if Hansen stays (this year), he is still signed to a good contract and has tons of value. But what I don't want is to resign him at 31/32 and overpay him (like we did w burrows). |

Your post makes no sense.
Hansen has no chance of being here during next playoff run.
Granlund and Baertschi could be huge pieces for that run. |

No but rising, which is bound to happen....helps, patience, give it time to work in our favour. You're so impatient! |

Orr even worse, the anchor contracts of the Sedin's, just saying that I believe Granlund & Baertschi are transitional pieces and Hansen provides the same as those 2 plus grit. Again if he gets moved fine, but I sure hope they add some grit for next season, as it will provide some excitement for what will be another season of struggle. |

What time of grit does Hansen bring? He forechecks... But he isn't very physical, and is injured all the time. |

I've disliked a bunch of our GM's, doesn't mean I'm not a fan, just means I don't like the boss. |
