If he ain't ready, he's not ready.
Him making the team next season was an extremely unrealistic expectation anyways.
At Boeser's current rate, we might want to temper our 'top six' vision for him as well.
In contrast to popular belief, the prospect cupboards are still pretty darn bare. - Whiskey-Tango

Corey pronman and bob Mckenzie have said that Van has a pretty good prospect pool. - manvanfan
Did anyone listen to the Bobcast where he talked about VAN's college prospects? I meant to find it but never got around to it
EDIT: This was the tweet, in case anyone wanted to listen

I think all fan bases overstate their prospect pool, yes even us, despite popular belief, the Canucks have but two bluechippers. So yes, I'd say the cupboards are still pretty lean. - LeftCoaster
Best it's been in over a decade. Gillis contributed almost nothing in terms of young prospects. Horvat is the only "blue chipper" he got and that cost him a #1 goalie to get. Benning has done a decent job of adding prospects and I hope he's given more time to add to that prospect pool! |

Rookie scoring race...with a little draft luck last year, three of those kids could've been Canucks
Patrik Laine, RW - 18 yrs old
Auston Matthews, C - 19 yrs old
Mitch Marner, C - 19 yrs old
William Nylander, RW - 20 yrs old
Matthew Tkachuk, LW - 18 years old |

No it's not , don't you know the Sky is always falling in Canuckville.
Every year we should draft 7 players .Four should make the Canucks that year and the other 3 Play for Utica - VANTEL
I know! Sort of.
I think Gaudette should be in Utica next season. Probably has a year or 2 of learning in the AHL. Burning a year of Boesers ELC to show Boeser what the NHL game is like so he can train harder in the summer.
Kyle Connor was at 2 ppg in the NCAA last season. 4 points in 19 games before he was sent down. Struggled early and is now 18 points in 30 in the AHL.
Utica will be very young next season. Not a recipe for success in the AHL. |

NYR is a bare cupboard & we r fine.
Once the NCAA season ends we make a big jump on the prospect pool.
JV Demko BB Gaudette & OJ in OHL PO's or longer.
Thats a far cry from bare bro - Nighthawk
Assuming those 5 players peak on their expectations and hit the team in the next 2-3 years, we are still a bottom 5 team.

Yes I agree, it's the best it's been in years, however, there's a lot of room for improvements. |

What are you talking about Cassels isn't close to the prospect Gaudette is and folks want to see him in Utica not Van |

We have an average prospect pool....this shouldn't be surprising. At least we are slowly trending up |

And how are they different when considering where they are/were at the same age? |

A 2nd sound about right.
Hopefully, Mason Shaw is available if we get the Habs 2nd. |

?? Cassels had a decent overage season but it's not close to what Gaudette is doing in his sophomore season. I always said Cassels was a bust. Anybody that watched the kid play in junior would know this. His skating is and has always been brutal. |
