So I continue to take the long view on this upcoming TDL.
I think Murray must be a seller with a keen eye on acquiring currency that can be spent in the offseason to fill the holes we have at LW and D.
In particular, I want him to focus on acquiring a prospect that doesn't have to be protected at the Expansion Draft...which can then be used to package with another asset to acquire preferably a top flight D partner for Risto from a team who will likely lose an asset to LV.

The bye week comes at a "good time" for the team, because they were simply out of gas, but it's also a bad time because they had really developed some momentum and had started to play well together. It really sucks that they can't even practice together to keep that going.

Also, the fatigue is probably driven largely by the fact that they needed to condense the schedule to fit in the bye week.

Bottom line, work harder so you can get some rest, and while resting destroy the momentum you've developed by working hard. Not a fan.

Thanks for the statistician work Michael. From these scenarios, I would gauge a 40% optimism to be safe, and still think BUF is 5-6 points out of wild card or 3rd place by Saturday night.

Teams coming off their bye breaks are 4-16-2 I read. If these guys aren't ready to go against COL & ARI then they don't deserve to be in contention. Win those games and that's 66 points with 20 games remaining. BUF would have to go 14-6-0 or 12-4-2 to get to 94 points which should equal playoffs (and a first round clubbing).

Also agree with some other posters that its time to sell off Franson & Kulikov regardless of a push. A 3rd for Franny and a 2nd for Kulikov would give the Sabres three 2nds and three 3rds this draft, some nice flexibility to add a Defender or 2 in June.

He skates smooth when he rushes the puck I just wish he would do it more often. Seems to get lost quite a bit in defensive coverage.
