I don't think he's a fit here but Bogosian isn't THAT bad. He's still a younger top 4(kinda maybe a little) defenseman that is physical. There's gms out there that value that.

Plus Mcphee is the guy who traded Forsberg for Erat so that's a plus

I never heard what the actual deal was but I heard it was for Ovechkin and that's why they called the media back to Washington for "really big news". Trading a previous 1st round pick for Martin Erat isn't exactly Earth shattering.

Vegas can negotiate with RFAs as if they were their own. But if they sign an RFA of the Sabres they do not select another player. (From what I have heard)
