He's basically just another Christian ehrhoff but we could use him I just think he picks his rangers before us - GERBE!!!75PTS
I agree rangers or bruins. Imo alzner should be the guy. great on the PK, can play shutdown minutes and above all else is RELIABLE. |

I was OK with alzner but watching him lately I think he is the weak link of that defense and that's sad to say I don't know if he's injured but he looks slow and lost at times |

Glad you brought this up..buddy and i were talking about it yesterday.
Did that trade ruin the trade market for D?
No shots at larsson but would the oilers be in a worse spot with hall and a healthy mcdavid??
Everytime a rumor comes up it's well hall was needed to get larsson - yen6d1
I hope not. I think that was out of desperation.
They tried getting Subban but MTL wanted Drais +4th pick apparently.
Sabres need to talk to ANA or Carolina IMO |

Greg Pateryn is available.
He would be a good fit for a 3rd pair.
Big Physical and cheap.
Probably would cost a 5-7 rd pick or a Prospect of similar age, ability (Low end) - ImThatGuy
Seems the wife is a little dissatisfied with the way the Habs are managing him.

dont think he's a top pair guy but we could definitely use a player like him to play the safe unnoticeable game on the second pair |

Funny, if you read the Carolina blog, the blogger and all the posters are unanimous in the opinion that their D looks great on paper but sucks on ice. I know Faulk is playing really well, but if the sentiment in the blog holds true, he will be too valuable to the rebuild to be available, and there are too many questions around Hanifin and others to focus on the Canes. I would keep looking at Minny and ANA. |

That's interesting. Did not know that.
They also are really young there though too. Hanifin is 19 or 20, Haydn Fluery is 20 or 21 |

That's too much imo but i could see it(hopefully not from us). looking at last years deals Jason Demars-4.5
Dan Hamhuis-3.75
Kris russell-3.1
Imo he's better than all of those players but prolly not much past 5 a year better |

From the blog:
Ward has been subject to 3 AHL quality D-men playing a night the entire season, as Tennyson, Dahlbeck and Hanifin have been mostly terrible despite having moments of quality D. Yes, I said it—Hanifin is playing at an AHL level quality—this isn’t NHL ’17 where he is a complete stud. The funny thing when people talk about the Canes is the discussion on how deep the blue-line is—really?
Potential is just that—potential. Until it materializes into something, there is only the potential for depth. The reality is the Canes currently have 3 top-4 D, an aging veteran who is disengaged, and 3 AHL guys who on competitive teams would be in the AHL.
While Ward does let in stoppable goals, he also plays in front of a unit that let’s guys walk uncontested to the net, leaves wide open (and multiple options) forwards for backdoor tap-ins and refuses to pick up guys who go towards the net.
Teams have discovered that the way to beat the Canes is to make them skate and not allow them to play a “1990-2000’s” style Devils trap. Once the Canes start skating, they typically stop playing smart, positional hockey and team’s capitalize on mistakes, turnovers and transitional plays. |

Hanifin is already pretty good though. Fluery is an unknown.
The guy I like is Slavin. 22, 6'2 left shot. Good skater/puck mover.

Cam Ward blows.
Like, he's barely at back-up goalie quality.
That said, the blame doesn't fall solely upon him either. Ron Hainsey checked out 5 games ago, Noah Hanifin has zero confidence with the puck at all right now, and if you're a forward and your name isn't Aho, Lindholm or Di Giuseppe, you should be (frank)ing ashamed of yourself and your effort the past few games. |
