So you let him walk for free sounds like the buffalo way
And can you explain to me how you think we're going to get a defenseman? Wings are easy to replace - GERBE!!!75PTS
That's a little different. If he's not signing I don't think anyone wouldn't move him |

Are you really doing this. - TheSabresTaco
Look at Stafford career. Tell me what year is the outlier.
Do the same for Kane.
Now tell me you want to base a contract extension on an outlier sesson....again |

Is it really necessary to explain.
If he's willing to re-sign, you keep him. Even when he cools down, he's still a very high quality player.
If he's not, well yeah, no poop you trade him. |

Tell me with a straight face that they're similarly styled players.
Never brought up contracts. That's a different conversation. And yes, I re-sign him.
And yes, Evander Kane is a much more valuable player than Drew Stafford.
I've never wavered from wanting to re-sign him. We paid a hefty price and he's a valuable player. Much more than Drew (frank)ing Staffinfection. |

Grrrrrr...this year already! Injuries are straight killing us. Eichel being out so long cost us at least a few points in the standings. Kulikov and Bogosian being hurt and playing hurt, I'm sure, have also cost us some points. Playing Fedun and Falk all year was not ideal. then, factor in Larsson and now Girgs. Mix Kane in there too. Injuries have absolutely killed us. That being said, with relative good health, I think we're up top right now. Lehner has been great, the PP is awesome, we've beat some really good teams along the way. It's not over, but I'm seing this year as kind of a "lost" year and what could have been. Hopefully we win the TDL and off season. I'm really looking forward to next season. |

My only problem is if they wait the next trade deadline they're in the playoffs they're not Kinect trade in so then you risk of losing him in free agency |

Sell, Sell, Sell...this team is going nowhere so if you can move guys like Bogo, Ennis, Gus, Moulson, Foligno, Gorges, Gionta, and Kuli you do it. The only guys I would not mess with would be O'Reilly, Eichel, Kane, Okposo, Reinhart, and Risto. And if some team wanted to over pay for Kane well then he can go as well but it would have to be a really good deal for the swords. At this point I would rather see them drop in the standings than move up and miss the playoffs by a point or 2. |

You base this entire argument on reading your crystal ball knowing he's not signing. Where's the objectivity. |

My point is you would have said the exact same things about Stafford during his 31 in 62 year. He was amazing.
Outlier years are the worst to judge a player on. |

He could easily say I don't want to talk contract right now and just Drury us
They better have a timetable if he doesn't sign it by then you trade him |

I agree to a certain point.
Evander Kane has never played with a player like Eichel before.
I would be very cautious with him when offering him an extension in the summer, but like you have said if he isn't willing to discuss a contract he is gone in the offseason. |

This is hardly an "outlier" season.
After his rookie season, compiling his season totals, he has averaged a pace of 0.64 ppg. His high was 0.77, his low was 0.54 and this year is 0.67. |

Drew Stafford's "outlier" season was 0.84 ppg. His low was 0.39, his average is 0.54 and his high is 0.84.
Eliminating the outlier season, his average drops to 0.52, with a high of 0.73, his only other 'successful' season. His next best is 0.59. |

That's because he was dreadful and didn't score his first 12 because of his ribs. Since then in the 36 games his goals and shooting % has never been close to as high. |

If he is gone my guess would be Jones is the starter next year and that saves me a lot of Sundays... |

What does that have to do with anything. The point is, he's doing. How he's doing it is completely irrelevant when looking at seasonal offensive totals. Like you have with Staff Infection. |
