That said, I'm not running him out of town either. If Murray can land a top pair Dman for him, I wouldn't hate it. But otherwise, I don't think moving him right now is the best option at the moment. |

Reinhart, Pouliot, Fox would start the rebuild of the D-prospects. Better than the middle picks that you may get for them.
Honka would fit into the D immediately.
Hanzal would free up the 3C spot, and if you cant re-sign him, you moved Ennis off of the books.
The Nillson part is an added sweetener because Dal and CGY goalies are bad but the value was just a bit off straight up. - ImThatGuy

Sub in Foligno instead of Girgensons. I dont know what Honkas value is?
In my mind You get bodies instead of picks. - ImThatGuy
Bodies aren't always better than picks. I know everybodys sick of hearing about them but you'd be surprised what good it can do for a team when its used properly. |

If you can pry Julius Honka out of a more defensively inept team than the Sabres, but all (frank)ing means. |

Right now, I'd only do it for a top pair guy. I'm not saying they can definitely get that for him, but it's the only way I'd move him right now.
I could be tempted for a top 4 guy and maybe one that's still developing as a package too though. |

okposo .267 gpg in nhl
e kane .317 gpg in nhl
kane is 3 years younger
we loved the okposo signing, no reason to not try to lock kane up on a similar contract IMO
if he won't sign an extension, move him at the draft |

As much as the Calder race is going to be insane, so is the Hart. Connor McDavid
and Brent Burns are one-two entering Wednesday’s games in percentage of a team’s goals one player is involved in. McDavid is at 39.9 per cent, Burns an even 39. The Sharks’ wildman has been on the ice for 56.7 per cent of San Jose’s scores, the highest number in the NHL. McDavid is the only forward in the top five, at 51.8. Rasmus Ristolainen, John Klingberg and Erik Karlsson separate them. And we haven’t even mentioned Sidney Crosby. |

Total points over the past 3 years for Okposo 69,51,64. 39 in 59 this year.
Kane isn't close to that production.
This is my issue. People are being blinded by a 36 game sample. He produces when he's focused and healthy. |

Eeehhh....He's been kind of a mess. Maybe he manages to put it all together at some point, but he certainly hasn't had a very good go of it. |

And what's to say he doesn't stay that way?
I get what you're saying, because he's yet to prove it in a lot of ways. But that doesn't mean he's incapable of it either. |

Hard to gauge trade value at this point. After the Hall/Larsson trade, everything is a little skewed. This is from Spector's page:
Elliotte Friedman reports the Detroit Red Wings received some calls about young forward Andreas Athanasiou when there were some battles over his ice time. While Wings GM Ken Holland won’t comment, Friedman cites a source saying Holland told them not to ask unless the offer was a “22-year-old top-pair defenseman.”

he seems ok in the ahl
puts up 25 or so points if you stretch his time out to a full season and is a plus player
maybe playing with his brother will get those competitive juices flowing
I'd take a flier on him over a late 3rd round pick |

If they can get him for a later draft pick (def wouldn't do anything more than a 3rd, but a 4th or 5th would be preferable), I can see taking a flier on him as well. I just wouldn't move any of our current roster players for him. |

History.
He very well could. If I am a betting person I'm not buying it.
I want him to stay if he continues to play like this. We need natural goal scorers. |

My hope is that what happened over the summer was a real wake up call. I guess I also hope that at some point as he gets older the partying/antics become tiresome.
I totally understand what you're saying though. |
