All of these are speculation at best.
A) The only ones that know if he's a locker room cancer would be those in the locker room.
B) Never been said, wouldn't know that.
C) Also never been said, wouldn't know that.
D) He's as far from one dimensional as a hockey player gets. scores, hits, fights, is fast. How is that one dimensional? Injury prone, maybe.

- SDSabre

It is pure speculation, hence the word 'possible reasons' and the heavy use of question marks.

You guys would certainly have a better read on the player then me however, he strikes me as a simple North-South guy.

Skates fast down the wing, wires off a wrister, rinse and repeat...

The hockey IQ, passing, anticipation...instincts even..are all very low but the physical skills, the shot, the skating are all there.

9% career shooting % is not good

- jjonah

His passing ability is not good, but his ability to receive a hard pass is even worse. he doesn't cradle it at all. That said, his positive attributes are really one of a kind

This season the first two have improved tremendously playing with Eichel.

He is taking much smarter shots as well.

Who knows maybe he is finally getting it. Only time will tell.

So early in the season we couldn't score if our lives depended on it, now we are getting good scoring but the d is a weak point. So we trade our one consistant point producer over the past 30 games, because he cant possibly have learned anything from the crap hes done, he cant possibly stay healthy ect. Ive heard nothing from Murray or Kane that he doesn't want to sign here, and if that's the case he will be traded next season. When Eichel comes out of a slump should we sell high on him to because why not, maybe he wont sign here either next season.

Is anything they do good enough for you? Maybe they wanted real bad to sign Zaitsev but he chose the leafs.
Just because a guy signs with one NHL team does not mean he wanted to play for everyone

I wouldn't touch an extension this year. If he plays this way through next year, than it can't be ignored. Facts are facts. He had 98 total points these last 3 years leading up to this one. That's a large sample size of injuries and inconsistencies.

If he really has turned a corner, you need more than 40 games to be sure

I said this in the last blog:

On WGR yesterday morning, they pointed out that the Chicago Blackhawks have six guys that have been on their team for all of their championships: Kane, Toews, Hossa, Keith, Seabrook and Hossa. The rest they've moved out and acquired as needed. The question is: is Evander Kane worth locking up big money for a long term, or are there other guys worth locking up ahead of him.

To me, the Sabres have two players that definitely fit this list: Eichel and Ristolainen. Reinhart is close, but I would absolutely trade him for the right defenseman (assuming he is available). I can't say the same for Eichel, and I would have to imagine any team willing to unload such a defenseman would be looking for forward help and not incredibly interested in Ristolainen, otherwise they would stay put.

Okposo and O'Reilly are already locked up long term, so there are four guys you have locked up, or will lock up in the near future. That leaves two spots. If this team is going to get that defenseman it desperately needs, you will have to lock him up as well. There's your fifth spot. Is Kane the last guy worth locking up? 30-some games of good hockey still doesn't get me to say yes.

1. does he want to resign here at roughly 6 per?
2. do the pegulas allow murray to resign him?
3. can he yield a difference maker on d in trade?
4. has he learned to tone it down off the ice?
5. has he learned to not rim shots around the glass, and can this consistently be how he attacks the offensive zone?

sabres need help on d in a big way. its limiting how they can even play the game. watching the games now, its like they arent able to pursue and acquire the puck in their own end, and its leading to them conceding 40 shots a game- just trying to limit them to the outside. we dont have stretch passes and we barely generate anything 5 on 5. kane and eichel are probably our only 2 guys that skate well enough to work around this problem. can kane get us a real difference maker? im not sure that he can. if hes just getting us a guy for the middle pair, i gotta know what the chances are of resigning him before i do it. power forwards with his skill set dont grow on trees, and we have nobody else that does what he does.

No one wanted Fowler at the beginning of the season, but hes putting up points, lets grab him, no one mentions hes on a contract year and will command northof 6-6.5 mill. It really seems like Fowler is the Duck's Kane sell high and what not.

Wow man, calm the frank down take a chill pill, no shots taken you are legit very negative about the Sabres, whatever the reason I don't reall y care its just crappy to see you constantly ragging on them for things that may not even been in their control.
Perhaps you should man up, and not take everything so seriously.

I wanted Fowler at the beginning of the season.

I have seen Fowler play for his whole NHL career and he's been above average for his whole career with flashes of being better. He's learned from and lived with Scott Neidermeyer. He's been a high value defenseman for most of his career, in my opinion.

Lol good one I can remember quotes from several posters on here that they didn't want Fowler he wasn't what we were looking for.

I also don't remember saying I like the team losing, but holy crap I couldn't enjoy this team focusing on only the negatives got to be positive once and a while.

My son has Autism and not every day is good or even bearable but I get though it by grabbing onto postives its the only way the get through such negative patches in what ever it is. I just don't understand how you can be always down on them, are they perfect? Hell no, but whats the use of cheering for a team when all we do is complain.
