I have no issue with extending him. I will admit I did not love trading for him, but I've come around to seeing just how good of a player he can be, just hope it stays that way. - sskkoo1
I hate to admit it

He brings an excitement we have not seen since Max. I really hope it lasts and he grows up quickly. It will make for some fun hockey to watch as the young guys get better and better.

Yeah, he's been impressive. But, I really hope Murray finally cleans house this offseason on the old vets taking up a bunch of cap space. We'll still have growing pains either way, but I think seeing our team being infused with the youth that's ready to be here full time will be super exciting. Leafs are doing that and it looks like they're going to the playoffs one year after being dead last. |

Lol good one I can remember quotes from several posters on here that they didn't want Fowler he wasn't what we were looking for.
I also don't remember saying I like the team losing, but holy crap I couldn't enjoy this team focusing on only the negatives got to be positive once and a while.
My son has Autism and not every day is good or even bearable but I get though it by grabbing onto postives its the only way the get through such negative patches in what ever it is. I just don't understand how you can be always down on them, are they perfect? Hell no, but whats the use of cheering for a team when all we do is complain. - Sabres1523

ennis
moulson
bogo
gorges
imo those 4 deals bring the team down next year, regarding the cap
if they could move ennis, bogo or moulson this offseason
kane at 6 or 6.5 is an easier pill to swallow moving forward |

I watched Kane at least 60 times when he was with the Thrashers at Phillips arena. The guy was a beast! If he keeps playing to his potential why trade him at all? |

Agreed. I just hope Murray doesn't pull off another dumb signing this offseason when cap space gets free. |

Is his success fleeting? His track-record would suggest so. In that case, I say you do trade him high, as you reasonably expect his production to drop back down to 'not worth it' status.
He is getting quite a bit of puck luck; when his shooting % regresses, what will he look like?
I personally don't like Kane - I think the hype was undeserved. If you can take his value now and roll it into 1 or 2 players that can add something long-term, seems like a smart move to me?

Lets not forget the 500lbs Gorilla in the room Eichel who will have to be signed long term eventually as well. Probably 6-7mil per year maybe more if he gets stupid hot next year

This is the first time he's been able to play with someone like Jack ECHL's caliber, so it might be worth finding out if the success is sustainable, or like his record shows, fleeting. The offer would have to blow Murray away at this point, as he seems to have turned the corner professionally and personally. |
