No offense to all the parties involved but it doesn't really matter as UND has an automatic invite to the qualifiers if the frozen 4 tourney. It starts on March 18. Semi's which they will likely qualify for is on April 6. Canucks last regular season game is the 9th.

Very little chance Boeser has an opportunity to play pro this year from what I can see.

Bummer! Didn't realize they were an auto-in. But if they lose early, like game 2 or something, he certainly could play. Didn't know it went that far into April either. cheers!

was just reading about him in Elliot's 30 thoughts. Intriguing possibility.

Annoyed by the snub of Henrik in his opening piece about players that hit the 1k milestone this year tho.

Sedins are looked at as garbage by most, why I don't know but its bullpoop.

Random question: Where does Iggy end up after the TDL?
Mtl, Nsh, NYR, other?

- dbot

Calgary for a 7th with 50% salary retention, even then still might not get it done.

Brock Boeser turns 20 on February 25, 2017. He currently is not signed to a contract and would be age 20 as of September 15, 2017, think that means no sliding ELC.

I just saw a tweet by Jeff Paterson about him. Not lighting the ncaa or big but any good player could help.
- manvanfan

I'd rather believe the UND coach or Button who saw BB play in person than give credibility to tweets from media parrots.
Second hand info we all can find & Paterson is only that.

Mackenzie makes a good point below which is why I think teams will likely view Hansen as a pure rental:

One potential road block for a Hansen deal could be the looming expansion draft, as noted by TSN's Bob McKenzie yesterday. "Let's say there's a team out there that likes Hansen. They say 'we'll give you a second round pick and a pretty good prospect for Jannik Hansen. But the team that's giving up the second round pick and the prospect now gets Hansen and they have to protect him in the expansion draft. So now they're losing a real good player in the expansion who they otherwise wouldn't have to expose. So now the acquisition price for Hansen isn't just the second round pick and the prospect, it's now the player they're gonna lose in the expansion draft as well. So the price starts to go up."

- CanuckDon

I don't usually question Bob, but I don't see the difference if they treat him as a rental or if they protect him the same number of assets are still lost.

Rental, assets traded + expansion player picked
Hansen protected, Asset/s traded for Hansen + expansion player picked
Both are the same

3 assets traded/lost for only 1 player lost later is Bobs math.
He is pointing out the overall cost to whomever trades for Hansen if thats the deal. Shows how difficult this TDL will be for sellers.

Umm Friedman thoughts. Captains BOston College, from British Columbia. 5th Hrounder of NJ in 2012. Free agent August 15th if NJ doesn't sign him. Cagguila type player.

Overage 23yr old C NJD 5th rounder.
Soft player & not in Caggiula's class not that he is lighting it up lol
Overage Collegiates or Jr's rarely make the NHL.
Depth player for Uticas roster prolly worth a shot.
NHL potential slim to none tbh

should have looked that up. They kept saying his birthday was September 17. So he'll be signing as a 20 year old no 10 game auto extension applies. It would have to be by mutual agreement. If he plays even one game this season then contract would have to say it extends one year.

That would mean winning the lotto for Patrick IMO
Mittelstadt is a nice consolation.

It's true once he signs and if he plays any games this season.

Though they can agree mutually to extend ELC one year on singing if he does play any games this season.

I just hope JB finds some free agent college guy's worthy of signing and trying out.
