If only MacDonald was as good at playing defense as he is at break dancing. He busted out some serious moves last night. So much so that he distracted Kuznetsov |

I think he lost confidence in Mase when his two starts after the AS break were poor.
It's also possible Neuvirth is being showcased for a trade.
I think Stolarz gets protected, but I would not rule out Lyon (who is exempt form the ED) getting ahead of him on the depth chart. Right now Lyon is getting the majority of the starts, and I would think whoever is the Phantoms playoff goalie would have the edge when it comes to being the Flyersbackup next season.
They are both RFAs needing new contracts, so how they get paid this summer might offer a clue on who the Flyers think is the better goalie prospect. - Feanor
He has shown a preference to Neuvirth before. Not sure if it is any indication on who they would resign, but if I am Mason I am excited to move on |

Would it be absolutely insane to start next year with Lyon and Stollie with the big club? |

Sure.
Or, and this might sound crazy, but hear me out.
Just let the refs and linesmen call the game in real time and be done with it. - Scoob
1980 just called and disagrees. |

I agree, time to see if Stolie can be the future. Might as well save cap and give Mase or Neuvy an inexpensive one year deal and tell them take it or leave it. Kid looked great when he was called up. Has he been good since he went back down? - ClaudeFather
He really did. Not sure how he has performed since going back down. |

Hey I agree.
I feel all sports now they are just trying to over correct everything. I understand getting it right. But I also understand the human element. |

I do often wonder who picks up the tab for that stuff. I am sure there are plenty of endorsements going on. Would be interesting to find out exactly how it works throughout their career |

people would've complained about missed calls in 1980 if the tech was good enough to show the blown calls |

I'd give him the net again if only to piss off 2real..
I like both tenders, but I do believe that Mase is overall the better #1 starter option. The team tends to play a bit better in front of Neuvy, but he gets hurt so often it's a real risk to anoint him the #1. |

Why?
He might not get near the money he was getting here. Also there is no lock for him to get into a better situation. |

Oh come on Bill!! Two rookie goalies in the easiest place to play goalie in the NHL, with fans who are so completely supportive... what could go wrong?! |

What's everyone's read on how Hak has been using the goalies of late? Neuvy's been decent, but not getting the wins, but Hak has not given the net back to Mase at all. Just trying to get one guy hot or does it mean Mase won't get the net again except for the odd start? To me, I think that one of them stays and splits time with Stollie next year. Not sure who. - Hextall271
If they plan on dealing a goalie, you'd have to think that they're showcasing Neuvirth right now, leading up to the deadline. Each would probably bring a similar return and Neuvy's contract would be much easier to move. I wouldn't mind keeping Mase out of the two. I know he's had a rough season, but I think that he's our best option moving forward. Tough to say after the season he's had, though. |

.. and the mask.. I want him to start just to see the badass gear. I know a lot of people don't like the flyers in black, but I always liked them right from the older alternate version introduced in 1998. They look sharp and really don't show any stains from beer and nachos! haah |

Why would he get any more money here? He has stated dozens of times he wants the net, and has proven that he plays better with strings of multiple starts.
If they want to tell him yeah you'll be the number 1 and get 60 starts then sure, but I don't see a scenario where they do that, no do I see a track record that would suggest they want that to happen |

Teams and players. Guys have deals with certain brands to wear but teams usually foot the bill.
When I worked with the Hershey Bears the AHL had a deal with Reebok when they first came out. Everyone had to use Reebok or CCM gear. Some guys who didn't would just white out other brands if they didn't use them. |
