Still on the Mike Green thing eh.... guess I'll come back Wednesday - nelson911
No chance he's coming to the Pens. It's a bad fit when you consider asset cost, contract for this year and contract for next year. Plus, the expansion draft. It's simply not a fit.

He's really rounded out his game in his last year in Washington and his few years in Detroit - j.boyd919
I mean if we could flip him for daley + a 3rd with enough salary retained to make it work I would do it. But he's a luxury on this team. I don't see him as worth giving up a lot of futures. |

That's where I disagree, I don't see him as a luxury at all. I see him as a better option to play top 4 minutes than Daley, who also has the underlying numbers of a complete, competent defenseman. Top 4 D has been on GMJR's radar all season long, and everyone was female doging about the amount of goals the Pens had been giving up, they don't need any forwards. But their D is lacking, and if you can get a puck moving D who is also competent at suppressing shots, then that is the move to make IMO.
Trust me, I'd much rather give up a 3rd or something for Smith, but if the right deal came across and the Pens could add a Shatty/Green player to their top 4. (frank) yeah |

Wow. Ruhwedel may be a better option than many are giving him credit for, I've definitely liked what I've seen from him in limited action but those numbers are very eye opening considering it would be arguable to say he's out performing a guy like Dumoulin in a limited role. - jaydogg1974
that's only one game though, I haven't seen him post any other games, if he does I'll post em. |

Should fehr be traded for cap room or just because others should be playing instead of him - nh4442
Why trade him for cap room? Both Maata & Daley can be placed on LTIR is they need cap room. They need depth and players that can contribute to winning not cap space. |

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't familiar with his work and just assumed that was year to date. Not nearly as impressive when it was just 1 game.

Pens are in a bit of a tough spot. They are definitely going to lose a good player to expansion.
I love Hagelin, but I think the Pens will be best off going 4-4 for the expansion draft. Keeping Dumolin, Letang, Schultz and Maata on D and Crosby, Malkin, Kessel and Hornquist on forward.
If Hags was taken, he could easily be replaced for his $4M salary.

Yah no problem, I know he picked 4 teams last week to track for some games, Pens, Leafs, and 2 others, can't remember who tho... so he should be posting more stuff eventually.

Costs way too high.
St. Louis isn't going to ship off shat for a late 1st. They would rather just have him for a playoff run even if not a contender. A 1st + sprong might get it done, but we have a long cup window right now so expensive rentals make no sense.
Green just doesn't fit in terms of expansion, salary, asset costs. |

I agree with the rental. And I agree with Green due to expansion/salary, IF there was no expansion and DET would retain, I'd be game. But I'm also aware those things make it a no-go. I just love the idea of having a stacked D. (frank) the expansion team. |

Rust would be my concern. Why take hags when you can take a younger much cheaper guy unless they want the name. |

Seems easy to summarize. Gamble vegas won't want a 1 year rental and go 7-3 or we are stuck at 4-4. I'd probably go 4-4 at this point. Only 4 forwards we have with a lot of trade value are crosby, malkin, kessel, horn. Hags/rust the likely choice don't have the trade value of maatta. |

what are you babbling about? - j.boyd919
Deny deny deny deny!!
See here again you say 1 thing then go & contradict yourself!
You are a weak individual - say what you said was stupid & move on. Stop trying to deny you said it! Pretty simple really. |

Don't confuse him with facts man. - Dcoms
The thing is with him, he posts copies of all the different stats sights but when it comes to his actual opinion it's pretty poor. He's either abusing people if they done accept his stats or saying things that are ridiculous at times! |
