Yes gillis was terrible at drafting. Not surprising though as he had ZERO experience with it going in. Im sure thats an area that experience would be important. Much like trump and presidency lol.
But he did select Bo Horvat, so it seems he did learn something in those 6 years. - SMBDragon
not really up to the GM to draft, but rather to find the right people to draft/scout. I think it helps when your GM is a former player/has scout experience but its not really his top priority as a GM to be a head scout. |

I know someone in here was asking for Joel Eriksson Ek yesterday for Jannik Hansen. I'm not sure that is going to happen. He is rated the best prospect in the Minnesota pipeline on http://mynhltraderumors.c...ild-prospects/2016/11/18/
Kirill Kaprizov is having one heck of a season in the KHL so I doubt he gets moved. Van doesn't really need a defensemen.
I'm wondering if they are asking for Alex Tuch, Luke Kunin or Jordan Greenway. Out of those 3 who would you prefer the most?
Personally I'd take Jordan Greenway. - manvanfan

nope. I would assume a mid range prospect and a mid round pick at best. |

I always find it fascinating how much we over value our players. Apparently Benning included |

Rutherford is the only one stupid enough to overpay that much |

I don't think JB has a problem hanging on to Hansen if the right offer isn't there. I still think he stands pat. |

Really liked what he showed at the WJC. Would love to have him in the prospect pool. |

Then he needs to trade Granlund for anything... |

I disagree. I think Hansen will have a new home by Wednesday. Exposing Granlund and his 900k cap hit contract would be ridiculous. It would kind of be funny of Shinkaruk and Granlund both got claimed but we don't really need to dive into that lol. Granlund is 7 years younger than Hansen, and Hansen's value has peaked, trade him now. |

I'm confused? Are you talking about the Gillis era? That was when our drafting completely failed and the cupboards were bare. All Gillis' ass lickers were defending his drafting until after he was fired. Now we actually have a few prospects... in the 1/4 of the time that Gillis had done it... and that's with trading away picks and a couple of b and C prospects.
I actually don't think this team is rebuilding on the fly. I think they are trying to improve while they wait for the teardown to start post Sedins. Maybe that's why you are so disappointed. You haven't thought it through very well. - boonerbuck
Lol no.
I'm talking about the contradictions in this team's own game plan. |

Nice list, if I had my choice I would go for Kunin. Former 1st rounder, nearly PPG as a freshman and over ppg as sophomore, but I think that is wayyyy too high of a price for Hansen.
I think Greenway might be possible as a former 2nd rounder, depending on other factors of the deal |

I think if the wild are willing to part with one of their top prospects they will be getting a player a lot better than Hansen |

I think you overvalue how much a player who has never played a single game in the NHL is worth. Isn't it you who is harping on Hutton because he has only played 1.5 years and yet to prove himself. |

Wild seem to be more in need of futures C then on the wings. |

Does Greenway fit that bill as top prospect? I dont know much about him but looking at his stats he seems likely to be a 3rd liner. The list didnt even have him ahead of Mike Reilly, who I dont peg as a top prospect |

Guy was unreal for the states at the juniors and is just about a point a game this year ...he is going to be a lot better than a 3rd liner |

Oh so boeser should be a first liner since he almost doubled his point total last year. I heard alex kerfoot was never going to make the NHL and he's a ppg player albeit 2 years old. |

There have been plenty of World Junior stars that dont pan out, his 13 goals in 70 college games on a top team are what have me less thrilled about his top 6 abilities at the NHL level. Gaudette is on a bottom feeder in the same league putting up well above a PPG and we realistically have him 3C ceiling...
EDIT: and for what its worth, that list also has a 7th rounder with bottom 6 potential ahead of him too |
