Lol that's correct. Only 1 team a year gets to win it.
- manvanfan

my point being. Doesn't really matter how many 1st round exits or consecutive years without playoffs or 1st round/overall picks it takes, the only thing that matters is the Stanley cups.

Hansen MAY be worth a late round 1st, but there are certain implications with the expansion draft and the fact that he has a 8 team shortlist.
- Codes1087

His shortlist doesn't matter. There are probably 8 teams that will be interested in him. If he doesn't want to leave, he won't, but he will be booed in this city for rejecting a trade and helping with the retool on the fly.

16 years in the league vs 46

Yeah, it's reasonable to expect at least one every 30 years. It makes the multiple cup dynasties look even more incredible.

Oh so boeser should be a first liner since he almost doubled his point total last year. I heard alex kerfoot was never going to make the NHL and he's a ppg player albeit 2 years old.

this statement is a joke. He earned the right to his limited no trade contract. He signed for another year after this one. If he doesn't want to move, that's his right. If people start harping on him because a trade didn't get done than shame on those people.

Hopefully he wants to win, unlike that POS Vrbata.

Only the stupid ones. The smart ones (mainly season ticket holders) know he will never sign here

to think of how many players, good players at that, have played and never won a cup, and then you look at those dynasty teams, and you really have to think of how crazy it is that they accomplished what they did in that time frame.

There have been plenty of World Junior stars that dont pan out, his 13 goals in 70 college games on a top team are what have me less thrilled about his top 6 abilities at the NHL level. Gaudette is on a bottom feeder in the same league putting up well above a PPG and we realistically have him 3C ceiling...

EDIT: and for what its worth, that list also has a 7th rounder with bottom 6 potential ahead of him too

Looks to me that greenway is a guy who uses his big frame to hold off guys and attract extra attention before dishing off ...thus the assist to goal ratio

(frank)ing millennials.
He didn't earn poop, he was handed it by a GM who couldn't manage a Tim Hortons.

If these players don't see the writing on the wall, then they are dumber than I thought. (frank) Dan hamhuis, he ruined his legacy as a Canuck imo. I'll never think of him the same. For 3 months he couldn't go somewhere and play hockey, what a joke.

You know Burrows will go anywhere, he's a classy Canuck, understands the big picture and knows it's a privilege to play in the NHL, not a right.

I think it was made a little in jest, but I dont think hes wrong about his 8 list team not mattering. JB holds his fate right now beyond this season because that limited NTC does not stop him from Vegas. Hansen has a choice, potentially finish his Canuck career pushing for 25th then go to Vegs, or go to a contender and maybe win a cup and then go to Vegas (or maybe find a new home?)

you are mad at the wrong person then. Blame Gillis, Hansen has given everything he has for this franchise, he doesn't owe you or I anything.

RE - Dan Hamhuis - I am sure the thought of our disappointment in him is keeping him up at night.

I am not saying anything other than Hansen supplied his 8 team list, which is in his contract, and if a deal doesn't get done, it would be pretty poopty for the fanbase to "turn on him" as Scooby has put it. If you sign a contract, you essentially earn it (whether or not the fanbase thinks so or not). I am not saying he deserved a clause, nor Higgins, nor Burrows, or Miller, and frankly my opinion doesn't matter, all I am saying is a player will move if he wants to move, and he isn't going to do it for the future of the franchise lol. Burrows will move because he wants a cup and knows he may or may not have a contract next year.

Hansen owes me a lot. I've paid part of his salary over the years. True pros realize this.

Hamhuis is a religious female dog. I'm sure when he's bought out after this year he will go crying back to Smithers and become a preacher. He got a lot out of his skill set, even won an Olympic gold somehow.

Could be, but I just cant see a guy who cant score in college all of a sudden being a top 6 scorer on an NHL team. The ratio is just too far off IMO

Not quite the same weight, but big body, drafted nearly the same spot, with low goals to assist ratio, now average AHL production: http://www.hockeydb.com/i...s/pdisplay.php?pid=152806

A first should be Bennings target. Not an A level prospect. That's absurd
- CanuckDon

JB is an uber scout, I'm sure he has a wish list of prospects, I trust him in this area for the most part. A first works as well, he has options.
