Just chiming in to say, I'm the reason Kris Letang is injured.
I just put him on my hockeybuzz pool roster for next week.
I've picked him twice before, and he got hurt both times and has only played one game while on my team.
Sorry Kris. - Vanoxy

Absolutely, but keep in mind, Hutton was also subject to Benning's so called 'eye for talent' as he essentially advocated (along with the team in general) for the kid to stay on the roster and was also Benning's first young extension.
Clearly, the GM has some faith in his ability to improve as well.
He's looked much better since his return (4 assists in 8 games) and I'm hopeful he takes a big step forward next season. - Whiskey-Tango
I agree trading Hutton for a pick makes no sense. even if it's a late first rounder you're just taking a step backwards for no reason. He has the potential to be top 4, and if he winds up being a bottom pairing guy+PP guy that's fine too. He's already established himself as an NHL player, I don't know why we would get rid of a relatively sure thing. |

Yes. They deserve your pity.
Three Cups in the last seven years.
I'll bet many thought the third parade was boring.
As a Leafs fan, I'm sure glad I didn't have to take off that much time from work. - Atomic Wedgie
I'm saying it was hard work that got them there. They paid a steep price for the glory they've got to experience for the past several years. |

some guys on here think the Nux can't get any return for anybody... maybe just trade everyone for a 4th or 5th rounder cuz that's what it sounds like some ppl think everyone who plays for the Nux is worth...
personally i think there are decent returns to be had from teams with multiple picks in the early rounds of the next two drafts...
Miller,
Burrows,
Hansen,
Sbisa,
Edler,
Tanev,
Skille,
Sedins, (talk to em' and tell em what they want to hear, and that they'll get traded to a team with a legit shot)
should all be on the trade list... eat salary if need be, just trade for prospects and picks and fill out the roster with legit NHLrs over the summer... or trade some of those picks and prospects to LV for NHLrs after they pick up some players in the expansion draft...
LV will need to stock its cupboard with prospects so they aren't hamstrung in future years... - kaptaan
Sure there can be decent returns. I get your out of box thoughts on pressing things. Selling can help. The reality of the CAP and Vegas expansion muddles it all.
For instance, no way the Sedins can be moved at the TDL even if they wanted and a trading partner was willing. The new team would have to expose two of their core to Vegas because of Sedins NMC. Plus no contender has 14M in CAP space. Canucks are very limited how much salary can be retained. It's a non starter for reality.
Why even Burr and Miller contacts are hard to move. Sbisa a bit too and Hansen less so. A team needs to make room and it's not all about the bodies. |

Still no talk out there about Sbisa. Usually the not talked about are moved in these highly speculative times. With the Hainsy and Stone moves I think a Canuck D like Sbisa is the first and maybe only trade JB will be able to make by the TDL. |

Tough to shop Sbisa's salary and lack of playoff experience would not shock me to see him still a Canuck after TDL. I think JB is actively shopping Miller Burrows and Hansen but the deals have to make sense for US. Those deals are gonna be tough to close out but they can be done. Time for trader Jim to resurface and be shrewd with other clubs. |

JB will be doing the rounds and exploring all options, at the end of the day I'd expect we probably do 1 trade and that's it. Either Burrows or Hansen for picks. |

We need to be diligent on the ceilings for our young guys and not move them too soon until we KNOW they will not be a good fit here. |

If we are 10-12 points back of the WC by Feb 28 (which we should be all things considered) we should see some movement. More than 1 trade I would guess. |

Lets not get our panties in a knot😂😂
A 35yr old so so D man Hainsey is a stop gap.
Other than Rutherford knows him he was desparate.
Cap space was minimal & now they r over it.
I give Francis the credit here & a flunking mark for JM.
Nobody so far has stepped up for MAF & might not.
Every GM & us can see MAF is given away most likely unless a team overpays what the market says he fetches with LV joining soon.
Millers stock has just risen IMO
I see a 2nd coming from Anaheim maybe. |

I mentioned that and how limited Canucks are in how much can be retained. It's not enough to make Sedins fit any roster @TDL. |

Just raising a few points...
We have Higgins & Luongo on the books leaving 1 spot to retain salary.
Sedins have a NMC's & r not wanting to leave.
Who can eat 7m in total if 1/2 COULD be retained?
So my question is how r ALL those hurdles made to disappear? |

Yes, salary is an issue for a cap crunched team that has no injuries. His lack of playoff experience is why he's not talked about. But the fact remains how many real D selling options are out there for the buyers? That's why maybe teams like the Leafs or Flyers to Oilers may make a move. The Cup challengers depends on injury issues and cap room. There are far more possibilities for D among the buyers then the forwards we have in my opinion.
I agree about the deals making sense for the Nucks. Would like to see more picks. Though it seems a lot harder, given the contracts of the other three, to move them. It could be done but won't be surprised if none are made. I know the hysteria in here will get out of control |

In a package for a quality young player I would as long as we were not sending a pick with it...unless it was a home run.

MAF is staying because a Cup contender like the Pens isn't selling anyone @TDL even for need. They want to accumulate players for the run. MAF may be dealt prior to expansion draft to a team willing to protect him. |

Ryan Biech with another great article on Boeser and Gaudette and signing them this year.
http://canucksarmy.com/20...g-to-the-comets-this-year - Codes1087
So I guess this story puts the argument to rest if it burns a year of the elc if they join the Canucks. There is a way around it for the AHL though.
