i like borgens chances as well. Would sell this years top pick though if it got us a d-man - Sabresfan-365
I haven't followed Borgen (Borgsies?) much at all. I know Dmen take a while to marinate. I watched Fitz at the Junior tournament and he was alright. I think we need all the help we can get as far as defensive prospects. |

I like seeing the numbers for Cliff Pu. 73 points (32/41) in 52 games as an 18 year old 6'2" RW/C for the London Knights. Keep it up Cliffy. - PrinceChill
Just got done reading up on him before I saw your post . He is 18 now and how soon you think he gets a NHL look? I'm thinking next season training camp. If he keeps developing , it might be hard to send him away from the Sabres.

I don't see the Oilers and Sabres as ideal trade partners. Maybe Craig is focusing on the Avs? |

I brought him up the other day
got laughed at
if you move the dead weight
ennis, moulson, girgens, larsson, foligno
you have slots and bailey, nylander, fashing, pu, asplund, baptiste, e. rod, carrier, etc can compete for them

I'm not sure. If it wasn't for those awful rules, it seems like the AHL would be ideal for a 19 y.o. Pu. I know I'd focus on how he'd look in a Sabres training camp. |

I thought Borgen was pretty good in his WJ appearance. Nothing overly flashy but strong in his own end, decent puck carrier, point shot etc. To a lesser extent reminded me of McCabes performance at that tournament. |

He'll need at least some sort of time in the AHL |

This may have been too long ago but Foligno's name used to come up quite a bit re: oilers. |

Cant imagine they're after duchene/landeskog, or in a position to give up defensive help. |

Does that help us? RNH isnt exactly a goal scorer nor is he a defencemen. Seems like a trade for the sake of making a trade. |

I like the sound of that. Seems like good value for the 4th round. |

FU Pu!
Love the kid but he needs another year in the OHL or Rochester to properly develop. Plus until Murray gets rid of some of these deadweight forwards like Moulson, Ennis, Delo, there won't be room for him in Buffalo. Unfortunately it seems like every GM who signs a bad contract ensures these bad contracts stay on the team vs doing the right thing - re: sending them to the minors.

I am not a big RNH fan. Take Kane out of the above and sub in middling prospect and I would do it. But Edmonton wouldn't.

Same, there's enough there that im confident hes got some sort of NHL future. The ceiling is debatable, hopefully we see a strong showing in the AHL when he gets there. |

I'm not in a hurry to see Cliff in blue and gold. But his development has been nice. It seems like we've got a quite a few prospects in front of him like Bailey, Bapper, The Fasch, and Al Ny. I'm all for bringing him up slowly. |

If they can find a way to get at least one player as immediate help for the top 4 im willing to bet on Guhle, Borgen and potentially whoever else they may take this year. |

if Kane doesn't sign an extension
it's 4 years at 6 per for a second line player that makes our second pp unit better and can play second team pk
ror-eichel-reinhart
bailey-rnh-okposo
5 pieces of our top 6 is set for 4 years |

Valimaki is who I'd want. Left shot D, he's a Finn (I think we have one other ) and has put up some big time points in the WHL.
If you have him, Guhle, Borgen, Martin (maybe), Nelson (maybe), Fitz and Florentino (maybe) all with NHL potential, methinks we would have something to work with. Still like to get another addition, but all of a sudden we don't necessarily need it yesterday like we do now. |
