Fan don't pay for hockey teams, corporate sponsors do. I'm not saying the sunbelt franchises are any good, but you're missing a fundamental point: small Canadian markets cannot compete from a corporate sponsorship standpoint.the only place in Canada that would make money is Another team in the Toronto area. All these other markets you're talking about make Winnipeg and Ottawa look like mega-profit franchises (which, I assure you they are definetly not) - neem55
I know they cant compete from a corporate standpoint but it would be the right thing to do for the love of the game but of coarse money rules, its just a dream I know but wouldn't it be fun with the rivalries. Another far fetched dream would be an all Canadian league take our Stanley cup back from them crooks, they can play for the American cup. |

I would not be surprised if Megna is resigned.
And you were correct about Hamhuis last year re walking away, i wanted to keep him.
We did not miss him this year b/c Stetch and Tryamkin (and Sbisa) filled in admirably. That was not a forgone conclusion though, and neither is someone doing what Burrows could do, but it's time to roll the dice. - dbot
it is not hard to find a nine goal scorer or someone that can instigate or crash the net.
Burrows was one of my favourites but we need to get rid of this thing of hanging on too long and getting nothing |

But consider the alternative, Miller simply walks for nothing.
It's not as though we need him to maintain our lofty position in the standings.
T.B got a great back-up, one of their better D-prospects who himself is a second rounder, a 7th and a conditional pick for an expensive UFA who they had no intention of re-signing.
That's a pretty decent move all things considered.
If Benning was offered that I'd like to think he'd have taken it especially when we could simply re-sign Miller this off-season if need be. - Whiskey-Tango
Has Miller stated he wants to re-sign here?

Rather have Burrows than Gaunce there. I think Gaunce is an AHL depth player and no more. - Retinalz
I think Gaunce has been our best 4rth liner lately. Still young. Still improving. Too early to say we don't have a bottom 6 player there...

I would rather watch Lababte , his hits and his four goals over Burrows , his 9 goals and his mentorship |

He's like all the rest at this point.
Defensively responsible, not a big hitter and unlikely to score more than a couple goals a season |

Did you say hockey team? Come on be reasonable. Did you fly in cause the airport has a tribute to their Cup win. - Nuck4U
only us Canadians would notice that, what I am saying is hockey is not talked about, everyone talks nfl, nba, nfl, mlb, franking bowling is more popular. |

Same.
He hits, or at least he did last game, but so many 4th line 'hitters' that we bring in seem to forget how to do that after a couple games...don't know what it is.
The last best 4th liner i can recall is Rypien. |

Isn't that the same in most of the US though, Seattle for example?

I'll be at the Residence Marriott tomorrow, how long are you in Halifax? - Makita
Hampton Inn. I fly back to Van Tuesday morning. Been here a week. Visiting my father. He's old and sick. But I got to catch up with very old friends. I find it amazing to see how people age. I haven't seen some of them for 20-25 years. Good times. |

I thought the Guddy trade and lack of interest on value for Sbisa was why they didn't sign Hammer. So it worked out. Which is how it could go for Burr. JB won't close the door there unless he's got something better.
All for young guys getting their shot. Though as JV showed us some are not always ready or have set backs and need time. Burr would be more then a stop gap there but one to show the ropes to the next core. Young players have a lot of respect for that. They say they need it so can't see the harm if there are no better options. |

Well, if its any consolation, the guy who directed/filmed it was denied entry into the U.S on his way to the Oscars this morning - Whiskey-Tango
I read that.
What a mess. The deep state at war with the president.... acting on international agenda's against the president. CIA illegally working on home turf to take down the elected president. If they fail to discredit him and delegitimize him, how far will they go? The last president to go against the CIA was Kennedy. He was going to completely overhaul them and was trying to prevent Israel from obtaining Nukes which had the deep state and congress in a panic. So we can assume they will go as far as needed.

I am hoping Bieksa waives his nmc and we get him and a fifth for Miller, we sign Raymond when he is done in Europe, Aaron Rome comes out of hiding & signs with us, same with Higgins. We make a Meh trade and get Luongo. We can live the 2011 cup failure for eternity.
3 seasons I refused to watch was the one preceding and following. I could not stand the make up of the team & refused to abandon ship, although I did start to cheer for Ottawa recently as my back up team. |

My premise was more in reference to the Off-Season when he becomes a UFA.
In either case, I'm guessing all J.B would have to do is call Miller's agent to see where they stand. |

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone thinking Trump is like or in the same way as a champion for reform and innovation like JFK.
Plus the deep state damaged Trump's opponent in the election. Environmental and Financial deregulation is a huge profit motivator. Not to mention the profits over any wars that could arise from international instability. |
