I got up to when it jumped ahead 5 years...read the TPB (#24)....25 and 26 are out but I couldnt care less.

thats the thing. whoever brought TWD to the table at AMC should have a job for life. The entertainment industry needs more people like that who find comics, interesting books, short story writers, etc.
some companies are doing some really interesting things. the major networks are getting left in the dust just putting out season after season of cop dramas, modern family, generic sitcoms, etc.....

Its crazy how many amazing novels and comic books and stories available in other mediums are deemed too ambitious for film...seems kinda chicken poop. Then again if HBO tried to do Game of Thrones 10'years earlier it wouod be dog poop.

from the entertainment industries perspective, it probably was. especially considering the budget it was going to take to do it right. and no big network scooped it up because of that. AMC took it.
I still think it was a pretty ballsy gamble.
it could have been turned in to a mess....Like the world war Z movie.
