Did you listen to Craig Button on WGR today? You basically heard me being interviewed by proxy

So he basically said he wouldn't trade:
Nylander, Guhle or Asplund
and you'd have to make a really good offer to get Pu

One thing I've been saying, that he confirmed,
is that Guhle still needs development time
Maybe that's AHL, or maybe it's protecting him in the NHL
But "you can't keep throwing young defensemen in your lineup... Good teams will overwhelm them... put him in situations to maximize his talents"
Basically, if he's here...
he's gotta be in a 5/6 role with support around him
NOT in the top4

Yeah, and that he is raw and that he is going to need some time. Also he said D don't need to score but they need to skate, move the puck, lead the transition. People saying that the D all need to be Bobby Orr Jr in point production is baffling. He also said that having young forwards and the young, cruddy D is the Sabres biggest weaknesses. Young forwards don't know how to play the 200 ft game yet but to some that doesn't matter. It's not just the D that screws up in our own end.

Ppl are gonna think I'm him...
hahaha

I totally agree
The problem with this team isn't "dead weight" or even the injuries really...
it's that we are YOUNG
And we are still learning how to play
And CONSISTENCY is going to be an issue

It's also the biggest reason why the FIX isn't to get rid of Moulson, Ennis, Larsson, Foligno, Girgensons & Deslauriers...
and insert Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching, Rodrigues, Carrier & Nylander

Not in one offseason

That would be monumentally stupid

from the entertainment industries perspective, it probably was. especially considering the budget it was going to take to do it right. and no big network scooped it up because of that. AMC took it.
I still think it was a pretty ballsy gamble.
it could have been turned in to a mess....Like the world war Z movie.

That was just dumb. I hated the idea from the start. It literally takes place over the course of years, is told in flashback and first person. MAYBE a miniseries. Maybe. Or a short run series like Fargo where they tell different stories in the same universe. Which could actually work since some of those stories are pretty long. And some aren't and you could do web content for the short ones. Give it to the BBC, FX, AMC, Netflix or Amazon so it doesn't get (frank)ed up and roll in the dough. The book (frank)ing rocked. And I admit, it even creeped me out a few times and that very rarely happens.

I'm really surprised Peters was on the radio today. I'm not saying he should've been fired, but maybe give him a week off, let the heat die down a little.

Sleeping at night is for pussies.

"Pussies" made it past the filter? Maybe because there's no "Y"? wussy. Yep, that's it.

I am thinking right now

we get a second for kulikov and for franson

- homiedclown

You'd think they want this to happen before they play tonight.
Won't we need to see call ups to fill the roster spots?

It would be a trade for Picks, I'm guessing.

Yep or Nelson. Faulk has been a healthy scratch, so if they trade away kulikov and franson they'd have to call up one. Would be nice if they could also trade away gorges, gionta, Ennis, nilsson and moulsen, I would be thrilled if 2-3 of these could be traded, realistically content with 1-2. Franson and kulikov have to be gone and hopefully before tonigbt. I'd argue faulk/fedun is an upgrade from franson/kulikov though i.have no issues with how Franson played this year

some unmentioned 70's flicks...

-Logans Run
-the Omega man
-Westworld....

I love all 3 of those

Another really really weird flick is the Vanishing point.
Jfitz would probably hate it. No studio would fund it today, but im glad it exists.
the band Primal Scream wrote an entire album about it.

Late I know, but best film that fits this description is Eraserhead by David Lynch....One of the hardest to watch but it stays with you forever.

Just some thoughts. What if GMTM holds unto Kulikov with the thinking his play this year was a result of his injuries. Because of his age and past performance maybe he is signed to 2 year deal. If they move Georges or Bogo would the return be higher? IMO Sabres will attempt to move Ennis, Moulson ( retaining salary) and Franson. Moving those two forwards will open cap space and will allow Rodriguez and Carrier to stay on roster. Really think GMTM is attempting to make "hockey trade" more than deadline deal, except in the case of Franson.

I once tried referencing the author of Blade Runner and Man in the High Tower, but his last name becomes Richard on HB.

Kuli is a free agent - there is no doubt that he is out of here by 3 p.m. tomorrow

Possible TM can trade him now, then sign him up in Summer on a one or two year Show Me deal, since this year has been a wash and who is signing him to a long term deal after the poop year he's had?

Not saying he should do this, but if Kuli is still looking for work in August and you can get him short term for cheap...and we still need a lhd, who knows.

I know he is hurt but my bigger concern is that he seems to have absolutely no hockey sense. He consistently makes plays that make you think he is half asleep. I want no part of this guy going forward.

Respect your view, just not certain that will happen. Feel Georges or Bogo will bring higher return in trade, because of experience. Its also way to bring down salary. If you resign Kulikov your top 4 next year is Risto, McCabe, Kulikov and Guhle. Just not sure if TM gives up so quickly on Kulikov.

There was some talk last night about Eberle for Bogo+ last night. It was from a national guy - not sure if he had heard something or was just tossing it out there for discussion.

Even if he was extended it wouldn't be until after the expansion draft. Murray has been consistent in moving pending FA's since he has been here. The only way he is here next year is if he re-signs with us after 7/1 AND we have moded Bogo and/or Gorges. That's a lot of "ifs", especially since he has been a train wreck.

Not what you're looking for, but I found it funny to see that post (not laughing at you, Slump) since I had just read this a minute or so prior:

Darren Dreger‏Verified account @DarrenDreger 12m12 minutes ago

Interested to see if Garth Snow goes big game hunting. Oilers say Eberle isn't moving. Duchene is a good fit for Isles...1/2

Darren Dreger‏Verified account @DarrenDreger 12m12 minutes ago

Colorado needs a young D as part of return. Hamonic might not be right fit. Duchene is eager to move. Still tough to make work now. 3 way?

Interesting trade idea as both players seem to have fallen in terms of favor from their respective teams.

Eberle makes slightly more AAV but his deal is one year shorter.

In theory, you are replacing Bogo, Kulikov, and Franson with 2 of Guhle, Falk, and Fedun.

Not sure that leaves them enough $$$ to get two D men for the top 4 that they badly need.

As with everything else, it all comes down to how much of the dead weight (we all know who that is) they can get rid of in terms of what they can add or take on.
