The trade market has been very strange. I thought the Canucks got a great return for Burrows, even Boyle and Hanzal returns were pretty good, but then the Shattenkirk return has me puzzled.

I know he is a rental, but even the conditional 2nd round pick if he resigns there seems shockingly low for such a highly regarded puck-moving defenseman. I think it looks even worse if you compare it to the Hainsey deal. I really have no idea what to expect with a Hansen trade now

I really never expected Miller to get moved anyways, the goalie market is (and has been for a while now) pretty flooded. Miller's St Louis experiment I think has ruined his chances of being a deadline trade. That being said the Bishop deal was more shocking to hear TBay didnt have really any other offers

just as I say I dont think Miller will be a deadline deal...

Given the price paid for Bishop I wonder if teams are reconsidering the benefits/security on the low costs

Caps were prob he only team willing to trade for him with no guarantee of resigning. Reports were teams wanted that guarantee. Hanzal had lots of suitors as a pure rental. Hence the similar returns.

I think JB likes that in his players. I remember him saying something similar about Lockwood at the draft, if he goes undersized he wants high skill and no fear
