So, absolutely no one is going to touch any of our players this year. Any of them could have mumps - and could very easily spread it to the new team. Unless we bend over and lube up, we aren't going to get anything done at the deadline this year. Again....

Doubt this would be much of a factor in any trade decision. The entire Canucks team was probably exposed more than a week ago. They could simply quarantine the acquired player for a week and then run a blood test to be certain.

It might be another reason (along with burning down cap) Burrows and Hansen don't move until the last day of the deadline. But that would be about it.

GM's will try to get the guy they figure gives their team the best chance to win. How they're expected to play a month from now is pretty much all they care about.
