Which gets to the heart of my issue with Bylsma's system. we don't have the d men to play his defensive system. Toronto realized that and decided to take chances to cover that up. Bylsma doubles down on parking the bus

I can see the argument that we don't have the right dmen for Bylsma's system when it comes to breakouts and the transition game, but I don't see his system being the problem when these guys can't play defense in their own zone. I honestly don't think leaving a guy wide open for a free shot on goal or screening the goalie and not cleaning house in front of the net part of the system. Basic defensive skills seem to be lacking. |

The issue is that it is a quicker fix to change the system than it is to turn over the D roster |

Well Gorges was signed to get to the cap floor, so that was sort of a necessary evil. Franson was the best FA dman left last year. Had we not signed him to that deal, we would would have had room for Jason Demers. Kulikov is brutal and that's totally on Murray. Bogo was a money in/money out to get Kane.

Girgensons has played fine as 3rd Center... most act like he has played 90 games 0 goals and 7 assist. Trade Larsson, Minnesota 2nd and moulson or bogo to the Golden Knights. |

Their Podcast is outstanding. It was really the only thing that kept them employed that long. Fox Sports Live was a dud (it never was able to rival SportsCenter). Fox was able to book them some great guests too.
It makes sense. Fox Sports 1 should really be a platform to show more live sports, and studio shows that focus on one sport alone (MLB, NASCAR, etc.). The multi-sport platform is, and always will be, dominated by ESPN. |

I think we'll see Kuli and Franson traded for picks today. Nilsson to Edm could happen. I think Murray wants to see what he has in Ullmark after his season in the 585.
We could also see a surprise move. Foligno and Girgensons are probably on some teams radar.
The real fun will be at the expansion draft, free agency and the draft. Maybe the hockey gods will smile on us and we'll win the lottery.
