Cant remember who said it, but someone suggested Dahlen might be a better prospect than Boeser, went on to say he was first round talent in a very deep draft and made massive strides in a pro league. I am equally surprised that any of our scraps brought him in - WhiteLie
I have also read that...between the two of them we should have a first line winger |

Bo Sven and Granlund all around the 20 goal mark in their first three years .
We have new faces that will be on the roster as soon as next game. Boeser will probably be a 20 goal scorer in four years .
You need patience my man.
Toronto and Edmonton are one concussion away from sucking again. We don't have a franchise player . - VANTEL

There should be more trade activity around the expansion and entry drafts. - A_SteamingLombardi
True, but i think the draft has potential to be huge. Even if there are no true stars (which I don't believe) a high draft pick puts JB in the drivers seat. A place he doesn't get to sit very often. |

I like the deal, works for both sides here. I wish Goldy all the best as he's going to get his opportunity to sink or swim with you guys, just something that wasn't going to happen here in san jose.
I just crack up so many shark fans crying about this deal lol.....I mean this isn't a shocker seeing goldy get moved.
Anyway I hope to see Hansen on Logan's line - SJSharks39

I never ever said that. Someone said we're set for wingers, I simply said not every one of those kids will make the NHL. |

Lightning probably just pissed Hextall off to the point where he will leave his crease and fight Yzerman the next time he see's him.
Lightning offload a 4th round pick, Filpula contract and a conditional 7th to Philly for Streit. Then flip Streit to the Pens for a condition 4th. Essentially, lighting offload Filpula and his contract for a conditional 7th. Smart move by Yzerman. - Codes1087
Wow, that's some GMing by Yzerman, essentially offloading a bad contract for a 7th round pick, leaves him plenty of room to resign Drouin and time enough to consider what to do with the rest. |

I thought I read that rosters are basically now frozen until after Vegas makes their picks.
Anyone else see this or know if its true? |

That's why I'm suspicious of Dons assessment. But I'm following him on this one. I'll stay positive until training camp. |

And if Tampa rattled off 9 of 10 here and made the playoffs I still wouldn't be surprised. |

And its still a first rounder. You have first round priority for players. Whether you have a guy you want to target, or maybe another team is willing to give you a second and a third because they're in love with someone. Its still a first rounder. - Lindenis#1
Yup exactly and we all know gm's and scouts fall in love with their guys. |

I don't think it's that far fetched. Keep in mind our past top line wingers where Hansen, Granlund and Burrows |

Its funny, because I read an article about... 3 years ago about "targeted" draft picks. Like when guys give up 41 and 67 to pick 29th or whatever.
Almost every single time the team that traded down came out with a better player.
Now, there have been advancements in scouting for some teams and guys coming up with draft models and what not recently, but I wouldn't be shocked if most teams are still old school and have that tendency to say "Thats our guy. Trade up no matter what".
Heck, there was that Flyers draft inside the room video they released where the scouts were gaga over Morin because they all saw him play the same game where he fought a guy and passed over someone else (Morissey?) to take him. And it sure hasn't panned out. |

They don't have to be stars they just have to be better than Skille Chaput Burrows Megna Gaunce .

As much as player development and drafting has advanced, there still is a definite "throw spaghetti at the wall" element to it. |
