Miller is all that's left, really. And it doesn't seem as if any of his 5 teams are on board with him. (Which is weird because if Anaheim expects to do anything they need insurance for Gibson and Bernier is trash)
The way that Montreal has been adding useless 4th liners it makes me wonder if they'd like a useless 3rd pairing defenceman like Sbisa. - Lindenis#1
Sbisa for a 3rd could happen. |

Sbisa. Like Hansen, I don't think Benning wants to lose him in the expansion draft. - boonerbuck

You need to stop waiting for someone to pull the carpet from under your feet.
Like DCT said earlier whether they make the Canucks or not we are hearing in the right direction - VANTEL
Sorry, can't do that. It's happened too many times for me not to be suspicious. We are building a prospect pool and I like that a lot, but as I said before prospects have a tendency to disappoint.
That's why I want to see a lottery win this year. Improves our chances greatly to finding those difference makers. |

I don't want to get my hopes up, but I was reading about Patrick since he returned from his injury and I got a little giddy. Generally don't do that for prospects, but a shot at a super talented 6'3 RH center can give you strange feelings. |

The difference is before we surrounded by the Country Club and never gave them the time . Now we have no choice . We will most likely struggle but at the same time we will be choosing a side and collecting your desired high draft picks |

Booners not going to like that "new direction" crap. Watch out. - bloatedmosquito
This direction thing is all fluid on timing and pace. Some things can be done but not always in reality from the talk of fans.
Though if you look at where the team is from when JB took over you see only 4 guys left. Most of these other players moved out are playing on other teams still.
So the direction shows a younger team deeper with prospects. More talent and skill is needed. Some being developed. We just don't have the superstar talent. That's the need that's still pending. Lotto wins would be nice but still no superstar to be had this draft apparently. Or at least by the bar of generational talent. |

D seem to be at a premium. I think he would bring in at least a 3rd/4th rounder. So, losing Sbisa for nothing when Biega can take his place instead as a mandatory unprotected, we lose...
Wanting picks and young players for vets seems to be a unanimous thing around here... you stand alone.

It would sure change the argument around here with at the very least no luck in the lottery... rather than bad luck. I'll take no luck any day of the week

You gain roughly 3M in cap space as well though. What if you use that to sign a vet in UFA to a 1 year deal to flip at the next TDL or even use that space to take on a bad contract that's set to expire in 2018 while receiving a prospect or pick for doing so? In a way it's worth trading Sbisa for even a 4th or 5th if you can make good use of that freed up space. |

Agreed. It's not actually losing him for nothing. It opens up opportunities. Getting a pick for him would be best. That is a fair way of putting it. Losing him in the E Draft would be 2nd best scenario.
Either way, it would settle our argument over the last couple of years where I said we wouldn't be stuck with the contract. I never thought we'd see him finish his contract here without an NTC. We'll see this spring or sooner.

I'm still in full tank mode. Been there for years now. JB is trying to do his job. Good for him. |
