Proven he can find them.
U twisted it saying the players r not proven.
Tryamkin Gaudette r truly good picks in the 3rd & 5th rounds.
Not every later pick will stand out. - Nighthawk
Can you explain what "Proven he can find them" means if it doesn't imply they will be NHLers?
Ben Hutton looked like a bad pick up until last year.
Judging these players as success or failures with a few years of their drafts is pointless regardless of how they look in juniors/college etc.

I'm 100% for signing vets to 1-2 year deals, let them "mentor" and then flip them to a contender for a pick - Nucker101
4th line next year this team needs more from. Megna, Chaput, Skille, Gaunce all scoring under .20 ppg.
Tanev and Tryamkin also under the .20 ppg mark.
Even Guds is at .20 and he was going to have his best season ever. |

When he was in Buffalo. But not Boston and outside of Tryamkin here its really hard to say if any of them are gonna be worth a damn.
Cole Cassel's was talked about around here as a great find and future #2. Now he's in the ECHL - Lindenis#1

Benning considers Dorsett a mentor, same with Prust. Mentorship isn't about skill - Nucker101

Riddle me this, if a prospect isn't good until he's proven, and he's not proven until he graduates from being a prospect, what would classify as a good prospect?
- boonerbuck
That's a trick question
A prospect can be very good at being a prospect. It doesn't have any bearing on whether they are proven. |

What do you think of the next Tkachuk kid eligible in 2018? He's a C. - boonerbuck
I usually don't start following prospects until their draft years, I've read that he's just as feisty as his brother.
Martin Necas is my fav of the centers this year after the big 2 |

You're right, I shouldn't of said "bad" but he certainly didn't look like a " good " prospect. |

Gaudette, Forsling, Brisbouis, Tryamkin and Lockwood all look like they will spend some time in the NHL. Maybe Mackenzie. |

Proven only time will tell but they r trending up.
If they draw notice from other teams say no more.
Hutton was not a JB pick.
As for judging thats incorrect.
What is correct is they r prospects with legit upside not like our past regimes.
Developing players in Utica with the ability to succeed is the aim.
Thats unheard of around here. |

Necas is a real interesting curiosity for me also.
So difficult to peg his talent not playing Jr's over here.
Trading down would be my idea if JB sees him as a gem. |

I agree its not much to ask for more scoring from our 4th line.
Fits more so into WD rolling 4 lines. |

Tryamkin and Forsling sure, but the rest are just the same late round picks that every team has a couple of in their system. |

I have them in the same tier, but I prefer Necas personally. He'd have more hype if he was in the CHL or college imo. Good speed, high skill, good hockey sense, and his work ethic/motor is great. |

It all depends on the alternative. Are we going to get Willie playing Dorsett 16 minutes a night Willie, or a Willie who is down to play the kids even through patches and maybe not throw Dorsett or Megna out when he needs a goal?
Or is Willie gonna be Willie and you decide that Green or another alternative is the better option for the coach to develop your next core? - Lindenis#1
You heard him last night. They can win if they play hard. Plus on playing Goldy on offensive situations was a no. He doesn't rush anyone new in unless they are known to him. Established vet say. Otherwise you got to earn it from the 4th line.
Does that work for all the players?!? Don't think so. Yet that will determine how prospects make it while he is here. Which can definitely run into next year... plus. |

Doesn't scare me at all.
He had good reasons & is young to take the next step.
Eg Phil Housley was a highschool draft pick & did fine back then.
I know he was a D ut just an example.
Matthews went to Europe as a novel approach leading to his development.
In the end skill & character will go further than where they play before the pros. |

Definitely. But I don't usually start getting excited until they start proving it in that AHL |
