Every year has up to 23 players win the cup.
Some for the 1st & others multiples.
There is ONLY 1 HART winner every year.
Thats no easy accomplishment & very exclusive club at that.
Between Dahlen, Goblin, Boeser, OJ, Gaudette, Virtanen, Demko and this years top 5 pick, they can't all bust can they? - CanuckDon
.....yes! actually their looking good! And dim jim made a great move with the burrows trade! a top 5 draft pick, a trade or two ?maybe a free agent? And bobs your uncle! But ya he did a really good job today

Severe lack of scoring potential wingers needed addressing.
Only the beginning & much to do yet.
Acquiring top C's just doesn't happen easily.
Draftng them is the best option.
We still need 1-2C's & stud D Prospects...
Same boat as many other teams 😂😂

We have 2 out of the 99 in NHL history. - Nighthawk
Literally all the guys I mentioned are UFA's - neem55
Like I said that's a different class. That's an exception group. It's a Vegas expansion year that has them up still. So we will see how many actually make it to free agency. Plus they are established guys not the typical UFA vet looking to extend his career anywhere.
I didn't see sorry and it is rare an undrafted makes the NHL but worth a shot. - manvanfan
Any way you can fill the cupboards. Lots of jobs between Canucks Utica and ECHL. Even if they end up signing minor league contracts you get to monitor their progress.
With the Alaska Aces folding I wonder if we have an ECHL affiliate next year?

45-50 contracts tells me Utica cannot handle all the leftovers.
So yes an ECHL affiliate is needed.
Where is not a big concern to me.

Proven he can find them.
U twisted it saying the players r not proven.
Tryamkin Gaudette r truly good picks in the 3rd & 5th rounds.
Not every later pick will stand out. - Nighthawk
yes true.
1 point though is that the reason tryamkin went in the 3rd and not higher is the fact that he is russian and teams are spooked about that. Otherwise he'd have been taken much higher.
point is sometimes there are other factors in draft order other than skill. Datsyuk was taken 5th round or something like that

He also was overage and had a contract with the KHL, that also factored into it, don't forget he had stated it was always the NHL or nothing as he was making more money overseas then he is now on his ELC.

All true but the fact remains JB picked him & he is here now.

wasnt he drafted just before he went to khl? - SMBDragon
No, he was already in the KHL when he was drafted, he was 19 on draft day. He was passed over the year before because he had committed to the KHL and there were a lot of doubts about his mobility and ability to defend players coming at him with speed.

Adding to that it doesn't hurt he is 6'7" & the reach that comes with it 😂😂
Happy with the TDL. Play these young guys, let them get a taste. The Columbus 2nd and some lottery luck is what's needed now. Pressures off WD, seeing the way you work with these kids will determine if you're back next year. - VanHockeyGuy

he's actually 6'8.5" the 6'7 comes from the khl website but it was wrong along with his weight which was listed as 220. How do we know its wrong? Because when you see his official height in cm's and you do the conversion properly it comes out as 6'8.5...if done incorrect its 6'7. This was discussed in depth near the end of last season here
