All I know is that we are a really bad team, and it's the GM's job to make them better.
Extra picks down the line would help replenish the system.
I find it odd that he couldn't muster up a 3rd rounder in 2018 for one of them. - sbroads24
if they make the decision to be sellers before the last week they probably get something for both of them. |

If GMTM fires Bylsma does that make up for no trades today? |

I don't think anyone thought Franson or Kulikov were going to be the answers for our problems on D. At this point though, if we are going to be a bottom 10 team...why not get those later round picks for them?
We have seen some pretty good players come out of the 3rd-5th rounds in recent years...slim chance of getting one, but it's another stab at it. Better than getting zilch no? |

Its called a salary dump eh - lulags
It's called not being a poor team anymore, eh? Not to mention kulikov showed some signs of life in a couple games but has been brutal otherwise who wants to take an injured D who makes a chit load of money? Takes two to tango. Franson? No idea there. |

Yes, worth selling. Ghule could finish out the season in the NHL, get a little experience, bring one more up from Amerks. Our season is done. Franson and Kulikov will not be resigned by the Sabres so again YES a 5th or 6th is worth it. - lulags
No, he can't. He can only miss 1 junior game. Only when his junior season is over is he allowed to come up.
A 6th is nothing. A scratch off that might win you a lottery ticket type of odds. |

Not really. If you couldnt acquire a 2nd, there was no point in moving anyone. - Mentalorgasm5
so all the other players that moved for 3rd rd picks plus should have just been kept by everyone else?

You know what's funny, there will be 0 people claiming Kulikov is decent now.
Now he will be sooo bad, GMTM couldn't get anything

Trade for 2018 picks. If Murray needs to buy at next years deadline he has extra ammunition. |

This is not a typo: the Flyers retained 4.7 percent of Streit's remaining salary/cap hit in that Filppula trade. Just 4.7 percent.

It's official ... Tim Murray is a moron |
|
|
|
Does not look good for Murray for the Kulikov/Pysyk trade. At the draft he probably bet on Kulikov turning around this season and at worst flipping him for a 1st or 2nd at deadline or even better resigning him if he panned out. Pysyk was as advertised and wouldn't have hurt this team. If Asplund works out great but that's probably a coin flip. Not a good trade for Murray's records. |
