How do you know he didn't? People make an awful lot of leaps here with no evidence. Including me, I usually tend to the "worse" though. You end up a lot less disappointed when you're right and even more excited when you're wrong.

I don't think anyone thought Franson or Kulikov were going to be the answers for our problems on D. At this point though, if we are going to be a bottom 10 team...why not get those later round picks for them?

We have seen some pretty good players come out of the 3rd-5th rounds in recent years...slim chance of getting one, but it's another stab at it. Better than getting zilch no?

No way to tell either way, he could have had dozens of offers or not many...however, I think saying that he couldn't have gotten 5th round picks for either of those two is improbable given what changed hands today.

My point is that they're either lotto picks or picks used to get rentals next year if we improve. UFA's leaving gets you zero...if anyone has lottery tickets that they think they won't win on, please give them to me. I will be happy to take my chances.
