and how many of them are Franson and Kulikov better than? By posts here, they're better than (literally?) no one in the league
- stashu

I cant argue that point. Franson had some value but was it a case of TM saying "I will not let my players go for nothing" meaning not a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th? We will probably never know.
I will still firmly stick to my point of a 5th or 6th is better than letting a UFA walk on a team that will not make the playoffs. I am positive we were offered at least that at some point today

Murray:

"I'm interested in fair trades, I think I'm not into waiting to win trades" (paraphrasing)

Add that + the hatred from many of the McNabb trade, and people STILL think he wouldn't have pulled the trigger on 2 UFAs today?

And there you have it. Kulikov is too hurt to get anything.

They would have been better keeping it. A 3rd round pick is crap. Taking a stance in a weak draft sends a stronger value to opposing GMs than taking crap just because crap was offered.
- Mentalorgasm5

And what stance is that. Im gona let this guy walk for free.

Remember when the Sam Reinhart draft was considered very weak. now players are popping up from several places in that draft.

Yeah, that's not going to go over well here.

TM sounds frustrated
- gordong

He should be upset. At least six players he could have moved and got nothing done.

Found out players that were asked about:

Franson
Kulikov
Reinhart
McCabe
Girgensons
Foligno
Bailey

And a not so very smart GM calling about Risto.

I said 50 times he's not moving Kane but got a couple calls but nothing close to moving him.

sorry in case anyone missed it.

- SABRES 89

It was a pretty quiet day overall. Not a lot of movement even in the week leading up like there has been in the past.

Hard to get someone to take your trash. We have a terrible defense and the two players "expected" to move today are part of that terrible defense. Kind of a hard sell, IMO.

That said, I'm still frustrated that Murray literally did nothing today to help improve this team.

To avoid getting nothing for him, do we extend him 1 year?

No his stance is literally "I'm willing to give this guy away." And still no one wanted Franson or Kulikov.

Yes. You want to make a Cup push, but want to give me BS? Too bad, you get nothing, good luck in the playoffs.

I would be totally fine with that. I'd even be willing to give him in essence another year on his original contract. I think that this year was a loss as soon as he went into the door.

Agree but I did post earlier he's being " picky". Maybe a better word would have been "pissed off" ?

And I bet that GM who is in the playoffs was really taken back by that.
