Anyone who thinks that 3rd to 7th round picks are worthless needs to realize that NHL teams have AHL affiliates and you want to build a winning culture from the bottom up.

Those late round picks aren't for anything other than depth and the off-chance you get a steal in a late round. You stock your minor league with them.

Just look at all the depth and picks GMTM has traded the past few years and look at the mess that is Rochester and tell me late round picks are useless.

Also, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lundquivst, Simmonds, etc.... They aren't useless.

If only we could have drafted Arvidsson , klingberg , gostisbehere , in the first round

Seems to me that a glaring weakness is that our defensemen make poor outlet passes, something Mark Pysyk excels at. Additionally, all of the Panthers fans I have interacted with claim that Pysyk is now their best defenseman.

I have no faith in GMTM, and it has nothing to do with not making trades today. I do not believe that he has put the franchise on a path towards either short-term or long-term success.
